Mythic+ Affix Change Incoming - October 29

As I say to the Canadian government that says I get back more than I pay for the carbon tax -

I would prefer if you just got rid of the affix rather than trying to weaken it.

If they had announced they’re increasing dungeon timers by 1 minute 30 for all key levels this still would be a nothingburger fix. The groups that are having problems with peril aren’t going to be saved by an extra minute and a half. These are groups losing 4+ minutes to this affix when it SHOULD only be 1.5. Now they’re just overtiming them closer to the cusp without actually helping them. It still inspires people to leave keys earlier than they would if the affix just didn’t exist.

This whole thing wouldn’t be a problem if key levels didn’t drop on an incomplete. And don’t come at me with the “wHaT’s tHe PoInT wItHoUt A fAiL cOnDiTiOn?!??”

If you love your fail conditions so much, go play in traffic and see how fun fail conditions are. We are playing a game. Games are supposed to be fun. Not slapping you in the face because the half-finished game didn’t display the visual under the spider web carpet, or because someone clipped the wrong pixel and gets disconnected, or because the badly designed affix add spawned out in narnia and the boss eats a 90% damage reduction for 20 seconds. Tight fail conditions are fine when the actual cause of that failure is within your hands. When you’re dying to bad/unfinished game design it’s just bad. B. A. D. Stop defending these clowns.

i mean we all know wow devs don’t care about feedback, but how can the decision making be so bad? cuz this is bad…

and yes, your systems create toxicity in the game. stop doing that plz…like ASAP

Why cant they help themselves and get better? If theyre dying 15+ times a run, affixes arent the issue here. Failing upwards is not a positive thing

Its not. People doing 12-14 deathless runs, how does Challengers Peril affect them? It doesnt.

If a single wipe is causing you to miss the timer because of “affix-hurdur”, you werent going to be timing that key anyway

There’s already a 5 second death penalty already. There’s badly placed checkpoints (if any at all) that add to run back time. Why does it have to increase further? It does nothing but promote people to leave keys more often and sooner. How is that good for the game?

It simulates difficulty based on what it replaced. A real affix.

This also isn’t true at all. W/ Peril, 1 wipe basically CAN be the key when it wouldn’t have been otherwise. 1:15 vs 0:25 removed is a pretty big chunk. How many keys have you timed in the last 40 sec? Or 1:20 if you double it. Can be the difference maker.

Also not true. Typically affixes result in lost dps for a few seconds or the occasional death. Nowhere near the snowball factor peril has by nature.

Definitely fan favorite affixes. Good ones to use as examples here.

Precise game play when you have to race against a clock dont really do well together. How about just removing the crappy affix so keys can be fun again?

15s penalty for dying is just bad.

The “challenger’s peril” affix that can only have its “challenge” adjusted by adding or subtracting time from the initial timer. :stuck_out_tongue:

Which is the same way they already control the pace of M+…by adding or subtracting time from the initial timer.

I like the affix. Rewards healing, Rather have a real one though.

and remove timer too.

And remove keys, and hand out free gear, and just mail us full bis when we log in

Healing doesn’t save people from getting 1 shot. Healing doesn’t save people from getting targeted by 2 casts and dying before it’s actually possible to react.

The affix is bad, it doesn’t improve the gameplay experience at all, it’s just a needless frustration. It doesn’t “reward” anything, it only punishes.
