Mythic+ Affix Change Incoming - October 29

I’m not. I literally said “A bit of a strange change, but ok. Certainly a step in the right direction.” I didn’t say: “Perfect. You have fixed this affix. Your work is done.”

I don’t know why you’re picking an argument with me of all people - or am I really the closest thing this thread has to someone defending this stupid affix somehow? lol

Dodging the issue. Why isn’t there a visual when the boss that follows has a pretty clearly marked area on the ground where the ball is supposed to spawn when it starts to spawn?

It’s bad game design.

I feel like this band-aid fix won’t achieve what you want.
This has the same effect it had when you added time to Azure Vaults on DF season 1, it will just increase the overall key level of players. Instead of helping with deaths it’ll only push the problem to a higher key level since the timers will be accounting this 1,5 extra minutes.
A better solution would be to do “the first x deaths have no penalty” or something like that.

You should’ve changed Challenger’s peril to higher key level instead.

Nah, they just need to fix the respawn areas, challengers peril when you can get back in 10seconds? Fine. But in like stone vault it’s awful

inb4 we get a bugged implementation that adds 90 seconds to the timer with every death, and a delay to the hotfix fixing the issue

How in the world does this make more sense than just making it 10s? This is wildly un intuitive.

Just moving the complaints down the road then, since you need +10s for max gear

This was the solution that keeps Developer Jim’s original idea of a 15 second death penalty in the loop.

Probably because the only other affixes they could come up with were % modifiers like guile to an already infinitely scaling % modifier on key level itself.

That or it’s just the solution the QA AI spewed out.

Not dodging the issue. The fact the person is marked and you can see the cast timer is all that is required.

If you need the visual of the orb to be present all 4 seconds, youve got a lot more problems than trying to worry about a dealth penalty affix.

Do you also need to see a visual for the dragons in Grim Batol to know when the knock back happens. Bad game design there too? Lol

Why? This is a non affix for people at higher keys lol having this affix helps you become a player who can do higher keys

At some point, Blizzard will devise key level goes up 1 permanently. Scaling does nothing.

It’s more or less the same now except people wait for the hand of Blizzard for that to happen. Why not make it inherent to the system?

Just have key levels always go up. Mobs stay the same. (Yes, it turns it into a joke.)

They are missing the point that higher end keys should reward complete faceroll death runs?

Like the “praised” DF season 3 with 40+ death timed 20s?

Just have key level go up by 1, mobs do not become harder. See you in 9000 ara-kara.

OR make sleep, charm, and fear also act as a stun even if they are immune to the sleep, charm, fear part of the effect. That way no one has an excuse to not interrupt.

? Interrupts exist for a reason, else they’d bring the stop meta back.

You should just remove it. It’s such a toxic affix.

The emphasis on precise play and greater risk already exists in keys - it happens naturally as you go up in key level. In fact, challenger’s peril means nothing in keys high enough where the timer is tight.

It’s an affix that exists just to punish ppl on lower keys and create animosity in pugs.

I pugged every single one of my keys this season as a class that is so bad in m+ it’s memed on as a liability. Nobody is paying me to do this I simply enjoy succeeding in harder content and being rewarded for it along the way. This season is not impossible at all if you’re willing to put in genuine effort to claw your way up.

If it feels like you’re rubbing your face against a cheese grater then might I suggest a stronger face?
