In every sense of the word, if the key isnt timed, you didnt do it.
Beyond the consolation prize of one item:
You didnt get points.
You didnt get a portal or achievement (if its a 10)
You didnt get a better key
Sometimes you dont even get a different key.
The only way you even know you did the 10 was the consolation prize and a mark that literally tells you that you didnt time it on RIO. At the level of the 10, sometimes the item doesn’t even matter because you dont need it causing it to get vendored/de’d.
So no. It isnt ridiculous at all. Its designed that way.
This is literally player control. It doesnt matter whether that player was you or not, that is quite literally the purest definition of skill issue.
You can cry all you want to about this, but as said before there comes a time in keys where rhe ONLY thing you get out of it is IO. If you arent getting the IO anymore, there is zero reason, for anyone, to be in the key.
Little billy wanting his first-second myth track gear is just going to have to get over that not everyone is going to want to waste upwards of 45+ minutes (if the deaths are numerous) for a chance that little billy not only gets something but its something they need, especially when everyone else gets absolutely nothing and ESPECIALLY if its the fault of little billy. “Respect my time” and all of that. It goes for everyone. Not just you.
Its what blizzard wants it to be. Literally and figuratively. They made the system this way. You trying to alternative reality your way into something that it isnt doesnt work. You complaining about how it is the way it is also isnt going to work.
More of this bs overgeneralizing.
If you are struggling, at all, with a key level to the point you arent timing it:
pick better people
get better personally
do lower keys until you +2 or +3 them
Stop expecting it to be handed to you or expecting the system be dumbed down to your level.
The first sensible thing you’ve said. I like this.
