Mystic Touch is Lackluster and Should be Changed!

Mystic touch is one of the worst raid buffs around and barely services the monk themselves bringing it.

Change mystic touch to be: “The affected mob is 3% more likely to be critically struck”

Now everyone can benefit :smiley:

No Mystic Touch is one of the few “raid buffs” that is properly balanced. “Helpful but not a big deal” is how all of them should be. Mage, Druid, DH… they are all busted and need to be nerfed.

It would be neat if they baked the old avoidance buff we used to have in the class tree before the revamp, or made it also affect magic damage

Give me back my monk party buffs! 5% damage pales in comparison to those raid buffs from MOP

Make it 5% more damage from all sources instead. Crit is always a rng source that might be fine in PvE but is bad in PvP.

The issue with this buff is that almost no classes do purely physical damage anymore and more and more rely on magic damage for their main output. This diminishes Mystic Touch when compared with Chaos Brand significantly.

To fix this either increase the amount of physical damage present across the classes or rework this to offer something different, for example Mystic Touch reduces armor and magic resist on affected targets.

Classes that primarily benefit from Chaos brand are: Mages, Warlocks, Demon Hunters, Paladins, Evokers, Priests, Deathknights and Shamans.
Balanced Classes are: Hunters, Druids
Classes that benefit primarily from Mystic Touch are: Rogues, Monks and Warriors.

Not close to comparable.

i would rather the buff you mention become hunter’s class buff and add another secondary layer to what monk is providing. 5% phys dam is kind of piss worthless in this day and age. bringing back avoidance or perhaps making the windwalker aura baseline to all monks could be very useful.
