Hello, my name is Meatlogs and i play on Thrall. I like to craft tempered potions from time to time and sell them around reset to try to turn a profit. Most times i dont or am only able to squeeze out a small margin.
Lately there has been what i believe to be severe Mycobloom market manipulation (as seen on the undermine exchange). It seems as though there is someone that it offloading their Mycobloom to the auction house which depresses the Mycobloom severely, however if you search for Mycobloom in the game you will not be able to buy it at the price you see on the undermine exchange. I am not sure how the Mycobloom is moving at this price but it is not available for a player to purchase so i suspect it to be a bot.
Unfortunately this does not only affect the Mycobloom market but also the Tempered potion market. Currently, on Thrall, Tempered potions are sellings for 41g, however at this price you would be selling at a considerable loss. In actuality the price should be closer to ~52g if you were to buy the reagents off the auction house. Why would anyone possibly be selling these potions at an 11g loss? The only real reason that i can think of is that you have accumulated a massive amount of herbs with bots and need to move them how ever you can.
So everything is going down atm. Happens every tier. It’s not a conspiracy. People finish their keys/raids and are done for the season, they buy less stuff, stuff goes down in price. It sucks, but you have to roll with it or wait until the next tier.
As for the prices, you have to factor multicraft–you should be crafting with a full potion spillover at the very least. Also you can craft with R2 and concentration.

Please go look at the massive price swings of Mycobloom on my server. The price yoyos. It doesnt slowly go down.
Mycobloom, as every other reagent, is a region-wide commodity. It is not server based
Okay, great. Do you see what im talking about on the Undermine Exchange?
That is a horrible graph. Totally unusable.
What you’re seeing isn’t the average price or even the median price. You’re seeing “lowest price”. Which is useless.
People post 1 of things at ridiculously low prices as a trap. To capture that data is a fallacy. It does not reflect the actual price, since there is only 1 of those. You can even see it in the table below the graph.

Okay, great. Thanks for looking. What do you think the price of Tempered Potions should be based on the current “average” prices of the herbs it requires?
No it should be based on the average price when factoring in multicraft and resourcefulness and ingenuity.
Jewelcrafters have entered the chat.
In all their dusty glory?

From a practical standpoint, it will be less than the cost of mats because people who do a lot of potions / flasks / phials get resourcefulness and multicraft procs, which lowers the actual average cost of making the items relative to the individual item costs.
I had three patron orders requiring vicious bloodstone (6.5 k each) this week on my two jcs.
So yeah I just ignore them. 1-2 KP is not worth it. Course… If it is given as a mat I’m so stealing it with resourcefulness…
Oh yeah! Break out the gritty, we are goin fishing for that hot air balloon of a mat!!
