The disparity was crazy. I thought matchmaking put you on an even play field? Is that wrong?
Did u have anyone rated? Happened to me to. Stupid. Win a game and your against rival teams. We tried with our alts and same thing happened
Placement games put you against a wide variety of MMRs in order to peg you in, I believe.
I don’t think so. No ones gear was that spectacular
According to most, working as intended.
Because blizz doesnt care about pvp. The matching system has been broken for years.
be thankful the pain your character experiences in game doesnt carry over to your physical self as you play the game.
Simple answer:
-You start MMR at 1500. (zero CR/games played)
-If you win you get roughly 200 MMR.
-If you lose you get roughly -200 MMR.
-If a rival team with 1800 MMR loses twice in a row…
Well, that’s how you get what you got.
That sounds like a terrible method of matchmaking.
It’s not, just the MMR jumps up too much or drops too much.
The way it works is actually pretty great, just yea should jump you like 20 pts not 200. Eventually you will find yourself in the right CR/MMR.
If I’m ivl 190 and getting matched with rivals, that’s a problem
Sure, let’s completely negate skill.
You are only as good as your gear is that what you are saying?
I am actually kind of interested how the loss or win works.
Example - I just joined a terrible pug as easily the lowest CR rated player (its been a rough pugging week). Everyone bar me was over 1600 and the opposite team was largely lower - 1400-1500 ish bar one druid.
We were destroyed as apparently tactics like ‘go to lava’ and the very popular ‘TC the weakest healer’ hadn’t been encountered on my groups rise to 1600+
I lost 6 points. Half of my team lost nothing.
That… really puzzled me. Seems like it would be the reverse?
You are fooling yourself if you think skill >gear. Gear matters so much more. I’ll take a greatly geared average player than a average geared great player any day of the week.
Rogue skill carries teams
Well, i guess your gear speaks for itself then.
Blizzard’s MMR system is wild.
Well it seems to be confusing and a lot of unknowns. I can’t imagine how it passed QA
This is the way its a ALWAYS been for over a decade.
Uneven matches?
