Every time I log off WoW, it seems to constantly update repeatedly and I’m starting to get annoyed, this has been happening regularly since pre-patch launched on Tuesday. I’m on a 2020 13” MacBook Air if that helps…
I am having the same problem. I click the update button and it stops at 70% and then starts scanning files repeatedly in a loop.

Me too. And like Bleedchaos it’s getting annoying.
Mine is doing it too. I’m on windows though. Gets about 25% through the update and skips back to scanning files. I’ve tried the “scan and repair” option but it did the same thing. Also had an error message when i first launched BNET that WOW could not repair while Wrath classic was updating so I uninstalled Wrath and the PTR, restarted everything but still no change. I really do not want to uninstall Retail just to wait all day for the download and have the same issue later. Anybody else tried to reinstall? Did it work?
I did uninstall and reinstall all of WoW to get past this problem. Might be the only immediate solution. My update would just cycle through scanning multiple times, otherwise.
I had this problem all morning. It would scan then go into the update just to reach a certain percentage and restart the scan. To fix this open your wow folder, go to data folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\Data\data) and delete ALL .idx files. Then go back to the launcher and hit scan and repair. It fixed mine.
I have done the fixes that some suggested in other posts such as clearing the .idx files in Data folder and gave permission to Agent client in System Settings. Both did not work for me and I still cannot log in. Please help. I haven’t been able to log on since yesterday morning. Is Omegle available or someone from Tech Support able to help?
There’s a post in the thread about this issue in the mac forum that recommends deleting .I’d files.
Was hoping I didn’t have to do a full reinstall but I will do so now. Thanks Nok!
