My wife lost a 41 year old mother of 3 last night

This is my wifes char.
My wife plays a balance druid… and in real life a doctor.
She has been working ungodly hours, but found a lot of comfort in getting logon the game for small bits and pieces between rounds, sleep and eating.

Last night she was in her first BWL and just started (after some difficulty with logistics at the hospital where she was playing from in the basement).

Right at the 3rd pull she he beeper went off and they had a crash or code red or whatever they call it.
The patient was improving… then just fell off fast.

Now she does not want to play anymore and wants to delete her char.

No great point here just sharing for her.
So many are acting like heros in the medical field. Exposing themselves to danger daily.
If you see a nurse or a doctor at Mcdonalds, buy them a lunch or something.

(gives your wife a gentle hug (digital) of support and a cookie)

Please thank her for working the front lines in this horrible time.

Hugs and condolences from afar. She should know that it isn’t her fault, she did all she could. There was nothing more your wife could have done. Sometimes there is no saving a sick person.

My SIL is a nurse…they were going without masks. My wife had to make some masks for her and the other staff there. Its seriously ridiculous how many danger these people are having to be in right now.

Homemade masks aren’t going to keep viruses out.

probably not. But you wear them for the other guy, not yourself.

huh… yep…just like people in the real world.

a great hug, and don’t worry, I think all this is going to happen about this world problem.

I want to offer my thanks to your wife for her past efforts and hard work in helping people get better. My aunt worked as a registered nurse in Ontario for a long time, and was an instructor before she retired. It is because of her I have a great deal of respect for frontline workers like her and your wife.

I whine and complain about grumpy users on my SAP system, but it’s nothing compared to the crap frontline workers deal with daily.

@ Jojo & Skirj:

Sometimes people need to vent, for whatever reason. In these current times perhaps a bit more often.

GD is as good a place as any.

Nothing in that post violated any forum rules. It’s from a person who plays WoW, ABOUT a person who plays WoW. That makes it relevant.

Huh. Well that sucks.

Thank your wife for us for putting herself on the front line.

My job is “essential”, but I don’t know if I could put myself in THAT much danger.

She is truly a hero.

Please don’t tell me America. That place is turning into hell on earth, and fast. Feel sorry for you guys.

Uninformed people like you is why people die

I don’t understand how these are related. Was there something about WoW that makes her think of the women who died?

Blessing to your wife OP, I hope the situation gets under control a lot sooner than later.

My ex was a labor and deliver nurse on weekends and did female surgeries during the week. She could be very cold about women who died in the OR (Repeating her attitude would get me banned) . She was the last person the patient talked to but seemed to be able to handle it.

The few times she lost a baby or mom in Labor and delivery changed her every time. It can be tough and I wish her the best.

On the topic of deleting her character, I have a lot of experience with this. MY son has serious issues, is fully disabled and WoW is one of the only thing he cares about in the world. I have spent 2 1/2 years of starting characters over every few days to once a month. If she has to start over, do it and just try to enjoy it. Sometimes they cant control what they have to do

Fortunately Its getting better over here.
