My two cents on Affliction QOL

I’m an Avid Affliction Warlock player, I love it.

These are for quality of life and improvements to some of our Talent nodes. Please note these are only guestimates on damage and percentages, but I’ve displayed them as ‘tuning’ knob examples.

I don’t agree with people that Vile Taint should be dumbed down to something like Shadow Crash, if that was the case we’d be more Pidgeon holed into spamming Malefic Rapture and never actually casting our “dots”, we should have tools that make casting our dots increase our performance, it should not be like shadow priests at all.

Talents

Volatile Agony Rework
Refreshing Agony with 10 or less seconds remaining deals (150% 600% of Spell power) Shadow damage to its target and enemies within 15 yards, in addition increases Agony’s duration on each target afflicted by a further 8 seconds.
Deals reduced damage beyond 8 targets.

Note:
Much higher damage because the rate at which we will be refreshing Agony is drastically lowered (once every 6-8 seconds after initial setup and duration), also adds a small boost to our single target DPS.

Seed of Corruption Rework
2 second cast Instant Cast
1 soul shard
Embeds a demon seed in the enemy target that will explode after 12 sec, dealing (57% 157.75% of Spell power) Shadow damage to all three enemies within 10 yards that do not have Corruption applied and applying Corruption to them.
The seed will detonate early if the target is hit by other detonations or takes (Spell power * 50 / 100) damage from your spells.

Note:
Explosion damage is zero to targets already afflicted with Corruption, don’t want this ability to be spammable. If not selecting the new talents below, you would use 3 GCDs to fire off 3 seeds at the start of a pull to hit 9 targets with curruption.

Kindled Malice - Removed talent is now baseline. (increased malefic rapture and corruption damage)

New Choice Talent replacing Kindled Malice:

Shadow Demon Seed
2 second cast time.
Seed of Corruption now has an 18 second cooldown.
Seed no longer explodes on damage taken, it now absorbs the warlocks damage over time effects for 12 seconds, the seed then explodes dealing 80% of the accumulated damage over time as shadow damage to its target. Re-Applies Corruption on the target.

Note:
Turns Seed into a single target ability which helps manage corruption allowing Siphon life to be picked more often.

OR

Spread Contagion
Seed of Corruption now costs 1 shard.
The explosion radius is increased by 15 yards, and Corruption is applied to all enemies hit by the explosion.

Note:
Turns seed into what all warlocks want out of it, huge AOE range and no cast time. Send and Forget.

Dark Virtuosity
Shadowbolt and Drainsoul now deal an additional 5% / 10% 10 / 20% damage.

Improved Haunt
Increases the damage of Haunt by 35% and reduces its cast time by 25%. Haunt now applies and spreads Shadow Embrace to two nearby targets.

Relinquished
Agony has a 1.10 1.15 times the normal chance of generating a soul shard.

Xavius Gambit
Unstable Affliction can now have a maximum of two instances active at once, single or multi target.

Ravenous Afflictions
~1.2 procs per minute
Critical strikes from your Agony, Corruption, and Unstable Affliction have a chance to grant nightfall increase Soul Conduit effectiveness by 300% for 6 seconds.

Note:
This would increase Soul Conduit from 5% to 20% when the buff is active.

Oblivion
Instant Cast
2 Soul Shards
A powerful affliction that causes (175% spell power) shadow damage over 6 seconds causing all damage over time effects on the same target to gain an additional 30% critical hit chance. In addition, Corruption, Agony and Unstable Affliction deal damage 50% faster.

Note:
With Oblivion, I envision a return to DoT-centric gameplay. The primary objective is to maintain near 100% uptime on all your damage over time effects (which are ticking down significantly faster), including the Oblivion DoT, throughout an encounter, which will necessitate precise shard management. Overcapping shards and Crescendo will still be key for using Malefic Rapture as a powerful filler spell or burst damage at the cost of overall damage. This build aims to be more powerful than traditional Malefic Rapture talent builds, but comes with the significant caveat that allowing your DoTs to fall off will severely impact your damage

Having the dot have a cool dark-energy cackling around the target would be dope too
