My three biggest gripe with Mythic+

The first is the great vault. The mythic+ and raid slots are not equivalent in anyway shape or form. My guild downed the first 7 raid bosses in a bit over 2 hours. Getting the 6 bosses took an hour and 45 minutes. The equivalent slot in mythic+ for doing 8 dungeons is equivalent to about 5 hours of game play if you are playing challenging content.

All of the mythic+ timers are between 30 minutes and 45 minutes. If you are doing challenging content the dungeons will average out to be about 35 minutes. 35 * 8 = 4.66 hours.

The 4 slot for mythic+ is about 2 to 2.5 hour while the 4 slot for raiding can be done in a bit over an hour.

Can the mythic+ amounts please be scaled down?

The 2nd is the rating. I am in mythic+ to be challenged and get gear. The rating makes it feel like I am at work getting my semi annual performance review. This takes a ton of the fun out of mythic+.

The 3rd is the item drops. The two item drops per dungeon is way too low. Over 75% of the time loot is not dropping for my toon at all. This makes my toon completely reliant on the great vault. Also consistently not seeing loot makes the content feel unrewarding and that feeling is enhanced due to the time differences between raiding and mythic+ in the great vault.

This game has always prioritized raiding over 5mans. Even though (in my own opinion with zero data to back it up at all) 5mans seem to be the most popular and played content by the vast majority of players.

Nothing will change much, 5mans will always be for the second class citizens. The moment things improve for them or gear gets a bit easier, the elite start to freak out. Just one of dozens of examples, the new weapons from the upcoming raid. Cool and interesting procs on them, while 5mans are lucky to see anything that is just a stat stick.

/end of rant.

to a certain extent m+ must also farm raid which is equally annoying. The could and should make raid farmable tbh. But you should also have to wade through trash every time.

I hate having to do 8 m+ runs, that does take a while. It does give 421 gear at the highest tho, so I can’t really complain.

It is a time sink, but I enjoyed M+ this season.

We should be getting a choice of one chest from EACH category of content instead of only one chest no matter how much content we do!

M+ Loot is also higher ilvl than the content that is cleared, while Raid is not.

You know what else takes the fun out of M? Getting people who are completely not ready for the key level or who have no understanding of the mechanics. RIO/Score is there for a very important reason.

You statistically have a minimum of 40% chance to get loot which is a far cry from your anecdotal 25%.

And also higher than the 20% from raid.

That’s only because the end of dungeon loot from M+ is laughably low ilvl. 20s are definitely close in difficulty to Mythic raid bosses, especially since they take about 10x longer to complete than killing a single raid boss.

RIO tells you next to nothing about a player’s skill. Unless their RIO is in the top 5-10%, it’s impossible to tell if someone earned their IO or they got carried in one way or another. I’ve PUG’d keys in the 18-20 range with players who have 2.4-2.5k IO, and their gameplay has been abysmal.

I think OP makes some really good points about the reward structure of M+. It’s definitely not in line with raiding rewards, which makes no sense because it requires more time commitment, and on the higher end is far more difficult.

Raid gear is typically better than M+ gear, but is offset by not being farmable. They are both relatively balanced ways of obtaining gear.

Score along is useless, but RIO is much more than just a number. You can easily see who got carried and who didn’t.
