My suggestion for vulpera race

Here are my suggestions for the vulpera.

Make them a neutral allied race, this will add an interesting quest line of how to unlock them. Once the vulpera been unlocked and go onto the vulpera character, the player can chose which faction they want their vulpera character on and then gain reputation with the faction of their choice.

Another one is for their emote dance. I think it will be cute if the vulpera did the dance to “what does the fox say”. It will be a perfect dance for them cause you know, they are foxxes.

These are my two suggestions and ideas for the vulpera. Im not sure where suggestions go on the forums since im kind of new to posting on the forums.

Well they are already playable alliance side. Perhaps we could come to a mutual arrangement with the Horde who are very set on getting these fur coats. I wonder what Gallywix might have to say about this special arrangement.

Pretty sure neutrality sailed off into the sunset when the Alliance slaughtered them in Vul’dun for trading with the Horde.

OK … this is not the first time I’ve seen the suggestion for Vulpera to be a neutral AR; and while I’m currently sitting on the Kelpin side of the fence … I still question exactly what the Alliance players want from the Vulpera? The Alliance does not have a single positive relationship with the Vulperan race. Canonically, they decimated their livelihoods and homes in Vol’dun; but also it is VERY likely that the canon Faction that blasted their way through Free Hold is the Alliance (the Horde has very little reason to attack a pirate base on Kul Tiras).

On top of this, despite their cute exteriors … the temperaments of the Vulpera (as well as their culture) has STRONG classic Horde vibes (a nomadic, ex-slave race, with savage tendencies … and a leader who apparently currently learning Shamanism). Thematically, the Vulpera (the ones with actual development as a people and culture) do actually fit the Horde FAR better than the Alliance on many levels; and its primary characters (Kiro, Meera, and Nisha) all have strong growing relations with the Horde AND the Zandalari.

In essence … IF the Alliance get Vulpera … what would they get? They would not get the culture of the Vol’dun Vulpera; they would not get Kiro, Meera, or Nisha; from all indications … they’d just get a fox fursona suit to parade around in (and I guess if thats what you want … cool)?

1-Alliance kill a lot of them in Voldum, check the lore
2-No, just no.

So no, never.

You want a race that gets so easily slaughtered in the Horde? Just curious.

No. Junker gnomes for Alliance, Foxes for Horde.

How about they’re not put in the game at all.

I wouldint say easily, it was a unprovoked surprise attack. I think Vulpera like Nisha would fit the Horde just fine, the Horde desperately need characters that have a sense of justice and care for their people. Kiro can stay in Vul’dun though, we already have plenty of arbitrary appeasing diplomats.

No more neutral races, Pandaren were a mistake.

That being said, why would they join the alliance? The alliance literally got mad that they traded with horde (they’re literally traders, that’s what they do) and started burning them alive…

Plus they’re a poorly done goblin re-skin. No more faction swapping races, please.

Poorly done is a bit much, but they certainly could use some work (and not just in their designs, but more importantly their story and lore). The Vulpera still lack a real narrative hook to keep them relevant post Vol’dun … which is sort of important if they don’t want to end up like the Pandarens.

Pandaren’s got an entire expansion about themselves, though. I just think they were a race nobody really asked for outside of joking around. I mean they were literally an april fools joke.

Allied races are variants of the main races.
Zandalari Troll, Highmountain Tauren, etc.

What main race would match the Vulpera?
There is no “fox-like” main race.

They’re a goblin re-skin. That’s the whole point of allied races, not necessarily that they’re exactly the same as a similar race, but that not as much work needs to be done to them because they re-use a similar model.

Uh… UHHHH
No.

This, or bust.

That’s development technology, not lore.

Regardless of what is behind their graphics design, in lore there is no player character “main race” for them to be allied to.

The whole term allied race was to imply that they’re closely related to an existing race because they weren’t going to do a ton of work to make entirely new races.

Example: Putting antlers on tauren and calling it a new race.

I disagree.
To me, allied race refers to variations of the “main races”.
Dark iron DWARF
Zandalari TROLL
Etc.

I see it from the in game society, not from how easy or hard it is to develop them.

But whatever…

I mean It’s possible, but they also definitely did it to cut down development time on the races and pump them out so It’s not that far of a stretch, considering they’re just goblin re-skins.

I mean, they even had to push back release dates because Kul’tirans had slight modifications from humans.

We set them and their caravans on fire.

The ones that players have positive interactions with live in Zandalari territory and the ones we see in Kul Tiras are all pirates with no notable living leaders.

They mesh poorly with the Alliance’s overall themes and aesthetic compared to the Horde.

We’re extremely unlikely to get a neutral race ever again after how poorly pandaren turned out.

A handful of Alliance players aren’t satisfied with our current allied races, so at this point, they’re just asking for every NPC race under the sun to become an Alliance AR, especially if Horde players want it or it’s a reskin of a Horde race. For whatever reason, they gravitate toward vulpera despite the mountain of evidence against them joining the Alliance, usually asking for them to be neutral, though I’ve seen at least two people (or one person and their alt) arguing that they should be Alliance-exclusive as a reparation for nightborne joining the Horde.
