My sis plays No Mans Sky NMS

It looks pretty, but more of an upgraded Minecraft?

And no mmo thing, or it was introduced, but you have to have friends to ask.

I like the idea of a vast zone, and graphics not has good, but music great. Just not a build things to get demolished by accident, or loose all gear and start again.

I guess I answered my own question, but wondering what others think?

Elite plus walking…

I tried to play it because I got it free(ish) with my Gamepass subscription.

I fell into a cave and spent 45 minutes trying to get out, then quit and uninstalled lol

Been meaning to try it, but haven’t yet. Have put a double digit number of hours in Valheim though, which has a similar concept except you’re in viking purgatory (which is nicer than it sounds). Pretty fun so far.

I looked into it and to my knowledge NMS is HUGE
MASSIVELY HUGE
So big you’ll never explore the whole thing
So big I don’t have the words to express how big it is so everyone understands how big it is
That being said there really isn’t any fast travel and since it is probably the biggest game world in existence you aren’t going to run across other players that often but it can happen the devs said.

And yeah you can organize a meet at specific planet if you want but there isn’t much multiplayer content.

Thanks guys & gals, appreciate it. Might install out of curiosity.

Because Wow was my first and only video game I’ve been gun shy (what a weird saying, and me living in the west!) to try anything else. This might be the perfect time to try without unsubbing so I can still go back to my familiar territory. If something hit’s my fancy more…well, we’ll see then.

nms is nothing like minecraft. Its a survival game but its more of a collect all the things type game. You scan all kinds of stuff, not really a game to build a massive base in and live there like you would do in minecraft.

It’s fun in small chunks, but can get a little tedious at times.

It’s a procedurally generated Galaxy. Which sounds cool when you’re thinking about it but it starts getting samey after a while.

Pretty chill game though, perfect for just a quiet rainy day.

It’s a chill game but it’s very grindy. People wanted the developer to follow through and have the universe larger but it’s probably not possible due to how imprecise double values get as they get bigger in a 64 bit calculation. The game might error out.

Like the one day of rain we’re getting in the Phoenix area right now

I’m on a regular pc tower thingy, lol, but my sis said the best resolution is if you get a PS5
which is hard to find and in the 700$. She seems to think Wow is just the same thing over and over and her game has updates. She’s a JW so fantasy magic ect not her bag. So the game kept her mind engaged and learning. Subtle sisterly put down to “my” game! Lol

It was a text exchange and didn’t feel like explaining Wow, let alone the state we’re in.

I heard this :+1:

What stops me from playing it is I can’t find an answer to if my exploration log is preserved forever.
If there’s 600 billion planets to explore I expect my log to hold all 600 billion of those entries, otherwise I’m not going to play if my progress is lost :man_shrugging:
