My rogue is weak

im lvl 21 and im struggling so hard to level up. i literally can’t do quests without a party at this Point. i miss an dmiss and miss, getting parried left to right doing 20 to 40 damage(more if i debuff or use finisher) am i missing something?
my gear is pretty good.

Nope, enjoy classic.

You should respec and put 5 points into the hit talent

What are your talents? What abilities do you use?

melee can level very easily if they just avoid mobs higher level than them. Rogues waste a lot of energy on misses, just like warriors waste a lot of rage.

stop fighting mobs that are 5 lvls higher than you.

use slow 1h weps might help a little

you have to grind, you can’t go quest to quest and not grind you will quickly run out of quests your level

In the combat tree there is Precision (2nd tier) and at 5pts will give you a 5% increase to hit, that should help a lot

Lot of others have said it, but I will reiterate. First 10 points are in combat so you have 5/5 precision.

After that it is a matter of making sure you level your weapon skill appropriately. Example, if you were using daggers at level 20 and decided to go pick up swords, you need to swing that sword at a bunch of low level mobs until it is leveled up enough for you to swing and miss. Honestly, this is what it sounds like your issue probably is.

I’m grind leveling as a rogue. I’m up to 32 just grinding and getting discovery exp. Having so much fun.

It’s pretty much how you’re playing. Don’t pull more than one mob at a time until you get higher. Move around. Level in Combat talents. You’ll be fine.

For the record, I do kill mobs 5 levels higher; but it’s not particularly efficient for leveling. I only do it for skinning.

Maybe give feral a try? Don’t have to worry about those pesky weapon skills and you make a good dungeon tank and raid ot. You do need to get the 9% hit from items though but you also get the best survivability in game with heals and land/water speed.

You are a human too which allows you a bit more freedom where this is concerned if you are using a sword

5+ levels is a lot harder without +5 sword skill

You know it!

Not really true that you NEED this when leveling. Does it help though? Of course it does. But it’s not something you NEED to have when leveling. I didn’t have problems leveling without it while rushing for Coldblood and 5/5 Seal of fate. And I am a freaking Night Elf.

Did you do your poisons quests yet? It drastically helps with fights.

no that sounds about right. i died a lot over aggroing and not having vanish early on. get endurance as quick as you can. saves a lot of time waiting around for cooldown and a lot of time on traveling. i ran out of quests a lot early on, i was all over the world looking for quests my level.

I mean, sure you don’t need it, but leveling sucks and it is best to get those things that will make leveling more enjoyable or faster. Enjoying Seal Fate and Cold Blood is all fine and dandy. I would still spec 10 points into combat for the first 30+ levels until I had the points for Cold Blood then I would consider my first respec at that point rather than slowing down my grind.

It just comes down to personal preference. I had hardly any issues while leveling when I was originally playing on Grob, other then the ganking/camping from horde players, even prior to p2. I did rather well, even without blade flurry. All my Deaths were from stated prior, horde players. Never any pve deaths.

It’s usually recommended to fight mobs 1-2 levels below you as a melee. Quests do not reward less experience until they turn grey, so go ahead and do the green quests. The mobs will be easier because of the hit tables, you’ll accomplish them quicker, and you’ll struggle less thus having less deaths.

I mean, I leveled an odd ambush / backstab / combat + sub style so I am not judging how people want to level. But this dude came here asking why he was missing all the time. That’s pretty much weapon skill, missing precision, or attacking stuff way higher level than you.

If he had the luxury of picking an odd leveling style, he wouldn’t be having these particular issues :frowning:

Love my rogue but can admit the leveling process is quite the grind. You’re going to die alot in the process so remember to keep a lot of bandages and food on hand to minimize down time. Try for gouge then bandage if you start getting low. Also may be beneficial to keep a few pots on yourself just in case. Good luck! The end game is well worth it for rogues imo.
