My personal experience as a TANK

This mentality probably bleeds over into your keys. Not really too surprising you’re not having a good time. I haven’t experienced any toxic behavior in my keys. If that’s something you’re seeing a lot, there’s only one common denominator.

The only time I see crapping on the tank, is when he or she repeatedly makes the same mistake or is making several mistakes. I honestly think I have only seen this once in TWW so far and the tank deserved it. I mean everyone has to learn. Are you trying to learn the dungeon on a +5 or 6 key? If you are, then you aren’t just setting up yourself to fail. You are setting up 4 other people to fail. Step back, try learning on a +2 or no + at all.

Shoot man, there are about 100 million videos about EVERYTHING in this game. Go watch some, /shrug. Good luck out there!

I have 3 tanks as well. I learn by watching tactyks videos first to get and overview of important interrupts/ spells, then running the dungeons over and over on heroic- then go to M0- then M+. If I was trying to learn dungeons in M+ I would personally expect to get a lot of less-than-positive feedback from the rest of the group.

As long as you let the 4 others in your group know before hand, and they’re okay with it, more power to you. But if you don’t and you brick the key wasting 30+ minutes of their time because you can’t be bothered to do 5-10 minutes worth of research before hand then yeah I will absolutely enjoy longer queues as long as you’re not in them.

We are now Hiring for an entry-level position! It requires PhD and 10 Years of on-the-job experience.

I even made a macro “Hello I will be your tank today, I am learning the job. Infos are more than welcome, blah blah blah”.

Please share your battletag so I can ignore you already and we dont bump with eatchother.

And also keep in mind that I know my way around tanking, interrupt, avoiding stuff, before going inside a M+ I have been tanking the dungeon in normal/heroic for a while and, in a less proportion, M0.

The mistakes happen but usually are honest mistakes not crazy silly ones and most of the time its bot even my fault, usually some dps trying to pull everything.

But alright, I get it, its useless trying to point the obvious these days.

I have to take it slow, I have a 608 bear tank geared from delves. I did a specific dungeon last week and ran it 5 or so times (Ara-Kara) so I can learn to tank it. I’ll learn another one this week, but yeah, it will be a few months before I’m up to speed on all 8.

I never liked that they release all 8 at once, for me, its too much to tackle since I only run 5 or so runs a week. But I can at least contribute in the 1 I know, and I had successfull timed M2s last week. It bumped my key to a M4, which I ignored, it wasn’t Ara haha.

But one of the reasons I take this approach is that I just don’t know the dungeons well to talk. I found leveling and heroics was not even really worth anything, they taught nobody any mechanics and I have to learn basically from scratch in M+. That’s my big criticism, they made them useless until M+

This right here sum’s up the whole : WHY AREN"T YOU WATCHING THE DUNGEON GUIDES and KNOW EVERYTHING ALREADY ABOUT ALL THE DUNGEONS !@! MY GOD ITS WEEK 2 ALREADY WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU TANK ???

Must do your research before hand to play a video game that is meant to be fun, enjoyable, and relieve stress from your day to day ‘real life’ actuals.

LOL. Another troll. In one of the most toxic filled community games on the planet in recorded history YOU are the ONE who hasn’t experienced ANY toxic behavior. LOL> … what a troll …

Bro if your doing <5 keys … roll with it … learn as you go … who cares … if people are caring they need to remember its a video game meant to have fun

This is what happens. Many of the top players have been running M+ keys since beta, they aren’t in the learning phase right now. You cannot compare the experience level of a player thats been exposed to content for 3 months to one that has been exposed for 2 weeks, its just not the same.

run into all the rooms, aoe taunt…wait for dps to catch up and burn them down. blame healer if anything goes wrong. its basic calf-roping 101. no skill involved how can this be a thread?

This. 1000%.

Love getting the “your heals suck, you are the worst” when they die because they didn’t kill an exploding totem, or stood in a charge, a swirly on the ground, failed to interrupt or chose to ignore the add that when not killed generates 5x dmg output to the entire group.

Again. This. 1000%.

Yeah, I’m a learn-by-doing sort of person when it comes to WoW. I usually don’t consult videos and whatnot because I forget everything by the time the video is over, lol. I might watch some stuff this season before I jump into mythics, but the real learning won’t happen until I’m in the fray myself.

The players in this game are ridiculous.

IT’S. A. GAME

most excellent point.

if you never tank, then you have no real perspective from which to flame someone who is tanking. on the other hand, if your perspective is that you have only ever run with “good” tanks, then there is a really good chance that that tanks’ experience and preparation carried the dps’ experience.

and if you do tank, to OPs point, dude…don’t flame your brother.

but as long as healers obey the primary rule:

tank moves, you move. tank stops, you stop,

then they get to complain about tanks.

lol, that sounds like fun… not, lol.
that’s work.

i know it’s crazy but some of who play tanks don’t get paid to play tanks. lol

i mean, I am just getting into m+ now and I am learning the routes and mob counts, etc. i have watched videos and guides, but you can’t really learn the thing without doing it.

i suppose I just have to run my own keys and post them with “chill learning” etc…

Which Tank do you prefer when you’re doing your Delves? I currently have ilvl 598 Druid Guardian, but I haven’t leveled my DK or Pally yet.

we also don’t have the luxury of learning in Normals or Heroics. :frowning:

As much as I love my big KT druid I have the impression everything is easier with my DK imo.
Pally is good but sometimes, and thats my experience only not sayimg its the way it is, I get “nuked” easier.
IDK thats just me.

In the few keys where DPS pulled stuff before me, they quit doing that pretty quick since I’m usually not ready to pick up more trash when that happens, which translates to me either not having CDs to survive more trash or not having CDs to pick up the trash before whoever pulled dies.

Costing me extra CDs on trash also means fewer CDs left for bosses and more 0-2% wipes on those.
