In my own OPINION I think SoD is really boring because their isn’t much to do.
You can do a raid every 3 days if you are lucky enough to meet the RUNE requirements people have set out or you can PvP and hope you have the RUNES required of you. PvP will get very unfun very quickly if you can’t keep up in gear, if you fall behind (very easy) you won’t get in raids because gear score and runes will be the thing in about 1 week.
What’s that you don’t have the best runes for you class and haven’t been in brd yet because they are locked behind you needing to do something really dumb or tedious …to bad for you. Not really fun if you ask me.
I personally have been denied end game content because I don’t have xyz RUNE (this is suppose to be fun?)
If I can’t get into end game content because I can’t get the RUNES people want, what else can I do at level 25 that wouldn’t make SoD boring. You can’t say dungeons, raids or pvp. Not sure of any other content in the game besides these activities.

Agreed. Having to spend time to reach level 25 for example, shouldn’t even be a requirement

Being a casual player already knew this. Usually rhe same for me no matter what version i play. Get left behind causr i csnt play as much as others, groups asking for high demands just to join, not even able to do content i want to do because of work schedule.
In the end decided imma try my best hit 60 at least and call it done. Juggling taking care of my 1st child who is 10months and working nights. It does help my situation when the person in charge of the internet bill doesnt pay it on time so my game time lapses for about 2 to 3 weeks every month. To the point i dont want to pick up an extra bill when i dont play as much as i used to.

Unfortunately, you cannot really go exploring higher level zones to fish because you’re capped at 150.

i thought it was going to be a lot more interesting… an ability or 2 added or changed doesn’t really do anything for me

It is just the first, initial phase. We haven’t even really gotten to explore the endgame yet.

But I think that’s the issue for me. I’m not looking for the endgame. I’m looking to enjoy the journey. The discovery, if you will. This feels like vanilla plus a couple of opportunities to get abilities (via runes) to make the game more fun. But for me, it just makes it identify more like retail. So why not just play retail? (Rhetorical question.) I wanna love this… but I’m really struggling with the why.
ETA And those aforementioned abilities don’t really make the game more “fun” as much as they make certain classes and specs feel more viable.

yeah im a single dad of 14 kids and work 8 full time jobs, finding time to keep up in this game is impossible I wish I didn’t need to put in effort and could just slide my credit card or something.

You can farm boxes. Every time you get a box you gotta run back to stormwind
You can also rank up in PvP. You can level alts and try different classes runes. Plenty to do in SoD.

Maybe I’m tripping, but didn’t you just make this thread earlier today?

I just don’t see what others do in SoD…what’s the hook and payoff?

Fresh Classic with the potential for a different experience.

Try another class and prep for the next phase

This.
For a reimagined classic experience just adding 12 out of era runes (with a few abilities being outright new) and letting you pick 3 of them but nothing else is new or exciting. A BFD raid that is overtuned. kool story.
Got to 12 and realized they put no effort into this. About 1 day of dev work and fleeced everyone into believing it was some reimagined classic experience.

Hate to break it to ya but that’s life. I just work a lot of hours. By the time I get home I really don’t have a lot energy or time to play. But I accept that and keep playing, and enjoy it for what I can now.

Your opinion is the minority here, plenty of other classic servers without the level cap for you to go to. You can choose to sink the several hours a day you have on other server types, what a privilege. Slower progression to enjoy group content is a breath of fresh air for those of us who have life obligations and hobbies other than wow.

I’m with you guys. I’m having fun but a little disappointed in how little change there is outside the starting zones. Durotar had me pretty excited, new items constantly dropping, new mobs and environmental assets all over the place… but then I hit the barrens, and they’re just… the barrens.

I mean its free for anyone with a sub. I’m not sure what you imagined “a fresh face on classic” would be but its been fun so far.
At the end of the day, classic is classic. They were never going to do a cataclysm level revamp

I have been bored too,. Mostly because there are too many people per layer always.
