If you reply to an individual post within a thread, it gives you the nested response which is great…but it also adds the reply to the end of the thread, giving you the same post in two locations. This is going to make things overall more jumbled than they should be. I would get rid of the second post at the end of the thread, and just keep the nested one.

I’ll agree there. It’d be so much more organized if all replies got tucked under the post they’re replying to instead of being on the primary post as well.

Weirdly enough no post I’ve replied to has created a nested reply, and has ONLY added a post to the end of the page, even using the reply button. Not sure why this is the case.

The nested reply thing is weird to me. I just seem to scroll past them forgetting they are even there.
I agree but I’m going to attempt to get used to it before I grab pitchforks.

not everyone likes nested replies, i personally hate them, this is a good middle ground, where you can click to see the nested replies, or not click and see in chronological order like before.
while its probably less than convenient for people that only want nested replies, there are a lot of people that dont want them too. we all just gotta get along.
Nested reply doesn’t seem weird to me, and it’s collapsible so it doesn’t clutter in my mind.
I think that what this really comes down to, is change. People don’t like change, but you’ll all get used to it in time.
A good middle ground would be if we had the option for one or the other, not be forced to have both at all times.
It’s definitely a matter of opinion.
I think I’d prefer fully nested replies, but I can see why others wouldn’t.

So a second nested response, just to see…do the new posts reflect back to the original post, because if they don’t, it can lead to a really whacked convo on the large thread …especially if people didn’t catch the original reply and nested responses…hmm
Nah, keep the flat one, eliminate the nested reply. Nested replies are one of the most annoying things about sites like reddit.
I think it’s done this way so as to both show the person that made the post you replied to that they’ve been replied to, but also to show that your post was added to the thread as a whole so it didn’t just get buried by people that hadn’t been part of the nested reply/discussion. Sort of a “catch all”, if you will, only cleaner than Reddit’s horrible layout.
I wish I could see if there’s a blue post/response before clicking. That changed, at least mobile, havent checked on the computer yet. Unless I’m missing something

Yeah better than reddits version of this but I do wish that at the very least the reply when put into the thread would quote the person you replied to.
