So after hearing our cries over soar get answered i finalky took my evoker out of retirement and finished leveling it to 70 and currently gearing her up.
I must say, it is so much fun to play, those surge crits hit hard lol.

Evoker mobility and spell animations make it such a blast to play
So them buffing an ability that you can’t use in combat is what turned the tables for you? I mean, I agree the change is nice, but it wouldn’t have stopped me from playing an Evoker. Honestly, I’ve almost never used Soar.
Well I dunno about anyone else, but the fact that Dracthyr have to ride a different dragon to get around instead of using their own wings ruins the immersion for me, so I couldn’t play evoker without it being depressing.
Ive mained Evoker since the expansion started because im a sucker for dragons and being able to play one sold the class/race to me. However there were always 2 things that bothered me, a lot, during the whole expansion.
Not being able to Soar like a dragon riding mount and being forced to mount another dragon to carry my lazy wings around.
Not being able to play my favorite spec, tank.
Now one of those things it’s being fixed, and my enjoyment of the class has improved considerably. All i hope now is for blizzard to final open the gate to Dracthyr tanks and it will be perfect.
I understand why the limitation existed initially, although its implementation was still a bit lazy. They weren’t sure if dragonriding was sticking around or not, but they were sure that soar was. So they didn’t want to make it OP forever if dragonriding didn’t make it out of this expansion.
