So i bought 2 new monitors. I bought a 34 inch 1440p and a 49 inch 1440p. Im using the 49 inch as my main monitor, but i find it way to big for wow. I also bought a new pc. Im thinking of switching to my 34 for gaming and the other for whatever else. What big of a difference would fps make? From going from a 49 to 34? Im currently hitting 90 fps in the main drafon city on max. Would it go up drastically?
valdrakken is cpu and game engine bound. If you want to see differences in fps vs settings go out in the open world and try things out.
Wouldn’t make a difference because you’d be playing at the same resolution (1440p). You’d get literally the same performance with the same settings with either monitor.
Unless its mounted on a wall Id say yes… Im a 42" 4k OLED and it seem likes the almost perfect size with it being borderline too big. I can’t imagine going bigger
I use a 49" QLED monitor as my only monitor until I get my home office setup. For WoW it’s just outstanding for the extra real-estate. I did center my UI as a more traditional size (maybe slightly bigger) so I don’t have to turn my head to see the map and all that.
Anything outside of that and I think it’s just too big. Cut scenes are in 16:9 most of the time. I’ll probably go back to a regular 16:9 monitor after the first of the year sometime.
I game with a single 27" monitor on 1080p, set up just an inch or two below eye level and roughly 28" away from my face. It’s the sweet spot for me. I did try to go larger once with a 32" monitor, figuring maybe I’d like it since I’ve seen so many people rave about gaming on larger screens. I didn’t like it – at all.
