It’s not “theft” for someone else to claim it first. You don’t own it, nor are entitled to it. That said, it is sad to be able to lose names that matter to us, to pricks that couldn’t care less about them. Mine was also taken on pagle, but not on mankrik, fortunately.

Careful you will get lynch mobbed by people and banned becase players cannot have you correcting them. I just got this as a reply:

This is exactly why I created the topic I did about letting everyone know what happens when you abuse the report system…

As it stands now players have a huge blacklist for players that do this…no one can have any opinions and if they do it’s report for a ban…

If you think a tone matters you are clueless. Polite only causes people to provoke you into being rude by not answering and posting all sorts of nonsense, which then and force you to get rude, then people reply with maybe if you weren’t rude people would be more inclined to help you.

When I check names and find 20 or more all the same, then we can know that with limited classic realms, a lot of people will lose out on their favorites. You cannot honestly believe that you are the only one that can have your name.

Time to realize you really don’t get everything you want in life… or in game.

Well if someone chose a name in classic wow before you did and you didn’t reveal your name then it can’t be called stolen.

But yeah i understand what it is like to not get the name you want when I made cool names for certain characters and bwam someone has it, but that person doesn’t play.

Names absolutely can be stolen. Back in WotLK my entire guild transfered. However, a rogue ex member had already pre made a lot of our names on the destination server since he was being spiteful. GM fixed that so we could all have all names again.

This is a lie, and did not happen.

Someone stole my name on most of the classic servers… Died has been my main for forever… over 500 days played on him.

Can’t say I’m surprised, there’s been copycats trying to be like me for years.

Even Blizz stole one of my names… Aldrimus… i’ve been using that name for CRPG’s and such since 1985, Blizz made a char in the game and copied the name from me, apparently…

So if you think Blizz is going to step in to save your name, sorry, not going to happen…they don’t even care if they steal a name, let alone a player in their game.
