I’ve tested this multiple times now. I have an Asus ROG G751JY laptop. it’s pretty beefy. I just started playing wow again after about 2 years. So I can be ready during classic, I use to play wow on this computer, however, Now that I am back I don’t know if wow has gotten more demanding or not but my computer currently cannot play wow. Once wow starts up… about 30 min in my Laptop stops charging and reverts to battery and dies. If I close wow then it charges again.
I’ve tested this with apex, GTA, forknife, and many of other games on my system. All seem to work besides World Of Warcraft.
so I guess my question is, is there possibly a way I can revert wow or idk make it more stable so I can actually play.
Or does anyone have any tips?
I dont understand how a video game can take more power than a wall outlet. Or do laptops just have like power limiters or something?
I do not. However I dont think the power adapter is dieing because when I do anything on my laptop besides wow it stays connected… Im telling you its only wow. when wow is open no charge xD
I feel like if it was a power adapter issue it would happen more frequently
Wow puts a lot of load on both the CPU and GPU wow generally shows power issues long before a lot of other things. The other games you play are more of a GPU load then CPU
Yeah. It must be, I have no other idea as to why It’s only wow. It just doesn’t make sense considering other games well… No offense look way prettier, wouldn’t those use more power, resources.
Most games the GPU does all the work. Would is a CPU bound game so it really loads the CPU along with the GPU. Many games the CPU is very close to idle.
I am having the same problem, but I have a Macbook Pro. I’ve order a new power adapter, but it’s still 6 weeks out. Anytime I play WoW, I can play for about 30 minutes before it stops charging. Then it won’t start charging again until WoW turns off. It’s very frustrating.
