My issues with Holy, visuals/adjustments topic

First and foremost I want to say Holy Paladin is pretty good, but in all honesty I feel like could be great with a few minor adjustments.

  • Shield of the Righteous removed and baked into Light of Dawn

Simple, every spec should have its own identity, Prot - SotR, Ret - Divine Storm and Holy - LoD. LoD while I love the amazing visuals is rarely ever, if not never used in M+. Let our dps spender be LoD.

More ranged is a bonus, slight AoE healing on the side is a plus, but most importantly larger range. My biggest hate is when pressing SotR is you can use it even out of range, whiffs a lot when trying to be mobile and dodge mechanics or chasing pulls, it’s a horrible skill/spender.

I’m continually getting 2 handers in my loot pool and drops, that’s literally useless because regardless I need a shield even if it’s a massive upgrade. SotR has to go.

  • Holy Shock animation change

Holy Shock firstly is a ST spell, yet for some reason it uses the racial AoE animation it’s completely off putting, most races for AoE throw the hands in the air like they just don’t care, why?, it should use the Libram animation. You cast Holy Shock an open Libram appears and you direct it. Visually 100% better, very thematic and honestly one of the best animations Holy has but is only tied to Holy Light and our Rez’s.

Let me use the good book to cleanse and purify my targets in radiant light.

  • Barrier of Faith

Honestly it just needs a little more to be on a more competitive level versus Holy Prism, which is essentially picked in every situation, maybe add a “receives x% healing while the Barrier is on the target.

  • Holy Prism

Speaking of Holy Prism can we update it, sending out a stream of noodles isn’t it.

  • Eternal Flame

Why does it replace Word of Glory’s awesome animation of raising my weapon to the heavens to my Racial AoE animation?, to me is a huge visual downgrade.

  • Update older races chargers

Humans, Blood Elves, Taurens and Draenei chargers severely look like a relic of the past, it doesn’t suit modern WoW, please update them and just provide a glyph option for those who prefer the older look.

I want a more fitting Horse, Hawkstrider, Kodo and Elek that look like they should be in todays version of WoW.

Loving Holy, Loving Paladin it’s great but always can be better. Do you agree? disagree? Have other suggestions?.

  • Hammer of Wrath

Throwing a hammer is cool, love it, but having it visually lightning themed doesn’t seem at all fitting for Paladin in general.

I’m glad you like my suggestions, I’m always thinking how can Holy Paladin be even visually greater. What can be improved on, Holy Paladin is an amazing spec that could be even greater in all aspects especially visually.

Well that and I really dislike SotR, I’ve been asking for LoD to be its replacement for a long time now.

Strongly disagree with you about the Holy Shock animation. This game is removing racial animations slowly and surely from every class and I HATE IT. I love the Fem-elf hands raised cast animation, I specifically play classes that use it, though the casting animation for offensive spells would work for it too. The Legion animations are way too common and basic, would hate the existing library of them replacing yet more race animations.

It just makes no sense to me, a direct ST spell uses my “throw my hands in the air” attack, like leave Divine Toll with the AoE animation, but definitely Holy Shock itself shouldn’t be, it feels so out of place.

My biggest issue with holy is the abysmal dedicated aoe healing outside of cooldowns.

Light of dawn suuuuucks, and it shouldn’t. Those talents that make it larger should be baseline and it should do a lot more than barely compete with WoG.

That is part of his suggestion. It would be good for us to use LoD as a DPS filler. I will also add, give LoD a 360 range so we can DPS and Heal simultaneously doesn’t have to be massive. if combined with Virtue, we could even aim for that little AoE healing.

as of right now if you want to heal AoE you have to be perfect with the virtue.
