My hpal M+ build

The current M+ build I am using is, I think, the one most Hpals were using in Season 2. Currently, im still using the same build. However, Ive noticed people pushing 24-25 keys already are using a completely different build. Im aware the new tier set doesnt work around holy prism anymore. So my question is: is the build the higher end players are using the optimal build to push high keys, and i need to learn it? Or can i rely on the build im currently comfortable with?

The thing about this build is that, and its a shame really, similar to howw the BoV or AC S1 builds, 1) it will just burn through your mana quickly and 2) WoG is no longer your best spot healing spell, they are FoL and HL now after all the tuning, which with the S3 build are vastly more mana efficient. If you play with S2 build you will run out of mana eventually in higher keys with how expensive WoG, CS and HS are currently. No amount of pots, BoW or daybreaks casts will compensate for this.

I think it was Ellesemere or someone else’s build i was looking at that was vastly different. It still looks fun, just a bit of an adjustment. Thank you for the response

I’ve been trying out Ellesmere’s build and I’ve found it fun. targeted use of casting and using HP mostly on SotR. I don’t have the tier yet, but so far been fun and able to keep up. I like I don’t feel penalized for bad game play because I need to weave in some casts. It also never felt good to completely ignore half of the healing abilities (not CDs) with pure melee.

I just wish they’d let me go with a 2H instead of a shield.

I was able to mog my sword and shield into a 2hander last season. The Lightbringer hammer, I think was what it was called.

Not even Ellesmere himself enjoys this build. In fact, he dislikes it in comprarison with S2 10.1.5 build.

But playing any other build is unviable right now in keys and specially in Heroic/Mythic raid

The 10.1.5 build was really smooth. Id never played Hpal until then and I picked up on it really quick. Currently, my struggle is with AoE healing, I feel like im either doing something wrong, throughput isnt great, or just bad group for m+. Ill make it work though. I play resto shaman because im good at. But im so burnt out on it.

I really wouldn’t use Ellesmere’s build tbh. I am not even sure if he is using it currently or just made a video about what would be the best possible build.

First of all, there is simply way too much spiked damage this early in the season and spending gcds on SotR could be fatal instead of WoG however in effective he says it is.

Second, I also wouldn’t drop Tyr’s Deliverance because it is a really nice tool to have for aoe situations when you know the dmg is coming. You can play around with swapping Boundless Salvation with Veneration, which is what I did and its ok. I don’t think there is a huge difference between them.

Third, maybe unpopular opinion but, I like running Beacon of Virtue for the added support for aoe damage.

I am at 453 ilvl, no 2 set bonus yet from season 3, and cleared all dungeons on +14. I will see how everything plays out as I get more geared and get the set bonus but this is what’s working for me atm…

I watched ellis’ video and did one run without tyrs… never doing that again lol. I’m really enjoying caster pally and pretty much run the raid build in m+. My dmg is trash but my guild couldn’t care less about healer DPS.

You wont see the mana issues Ellesmere is talking about in 14s. You will start noticing them sometine after 17s, when pulls live longer and you will need the spot healing that Divine Favor + HoL, and Fol spam brings.

There are builds in the top 10 hpals that uses tyrs yes, but you will need inflourescence of the sunwell and will have to drop Awakening, so its a trade-off. Also, you will need Divine Revelations for extra spot healing and mana refund.

You aren’t running 20’s and speaking out of your nose. Daybreak is your aoe with Toll, you don’t need Tyrs and Beacon of Virt eats through insane amounts of mana for no use. If it were still four target, it’d be fine.
