Once shadowlands is over and we go back to azeroth, I hope a huge world revamp happens and original Azeroth is basically brand new. The possibilities are endless really.
I’m hoping quite a bit of time has passed and we aren’t recognized but only from folk lore ( enter Bard class) with Tyralon the steward of stormwind in charge the light has become more of an oppressor than a savior. Lorderon rebuilt into its former glory west and east plague lands cleansed and re built. Basically I’m hoping for I guess a WoW 2 with brand new stories and characters.
Every main char in the SL with us dies in some way and doesn’t come back with us. They perform the ultimate sacrifice as most leaders do. Just thinking of the possibilities of the next chapter in wow excites me. It’s an opportunity for sure. I’m just hoping they take it.
All in all I’m just tired of teleporting to planets and different planes if existence. Azeroth is beautiful and definitely could provide endless content if done correctly.

I expect it too. The way I see it: WoD + Legion was TBC 2, BFA + Shadowlands is Wotlk 2, the next two expansions are Cata 2. It’s like doing a soft reboot hidden as a new expansion.
They can work out well but it’s very easy to mess up. I think it’d be rather difficult for Blizz to pull off, especially in the context of a MMO.
Wasn’t the official word that time works the same as in Azeroth but the perception of it is different? Sort of like spending an hour at the DMV vs an hour doing your favorite hobby (unless your favorite hobby is waiting at the DMV at which point I question your life choices).
Not significantly. Time is still flowing so they can justify some changes but I wouldn’t expect it to be unrecognizable.
A time skip sounds truly awful. I don’t want a brand new cast of characters to go back to after Shadowlands. I want them to make content with the characters we already have, like Thalyssra.
There’s not going to be a timeskip. Time in the Shadowlands passes faster, not slower. If anything, only a few weeks will have gone by after Shadowlands.
I like the idea but can we spare Anduin? Just him? I want to help him to retake the throne. Kinda sad standing against Turalyon but if I have to choose one… : )
I’m thinking with lights hope chapel being in eastern plaguelands the revamp can begin… I mean the mean the lich king is gone and I feel as tho there is no reason it can’t or shouldn’t be cleansed… I mean the Paladin class hall is right there lol
They’d have to sell the game to a developer with imagination, commitment and passion for this to happen. Based on the last 8 years, Blizzard has proven they can’t do it.
If I ever won the lottery big, I would free blizzard from activision, or I would travel back in time and tell them don’t do this, it doesn’t bode well for the brand lol
They had an opportunity to do something big with Lordaeron in BFA. The alliance could have retaken and actually USED a capital city, and Teldrassil could have been permanently removed from the game world giving the 3 players that went there a personal stake in making the antagonists pay.
But nope. CHROMIE TIME BAY BEE
This team just doesn’t have it in them anymore. Celebrate the times we had, but don’t expect much other than New Resource X, New Rental Power Y, and Weekly Content Z from here on out. 3 expansions of this now, why does anyone think they’ll stop?
They don’t even redesign specs, their new “classes” are just a hodge-podge of other classes abilities. Raid bosses are just given an additional dozen abilities every patch called Annihilating Smash/Crush/Ravage or something, and you kill them for loot.
Nothing ever changes. The game you had in 2015 is the game you’ll have in 2025. The numbers will be different, the levels will be different, and the coat of paint will be different. But the core game is never changing again.
