Im behind the times. I just bought war within last Friday, today is tuesday. So 4 days of playing it.
I know, im a late comer this time around.
Alls well and good. The story so far? A+ Blizzard, the story is pretty good, you’re getting there. A bit behind square enix and Shadowbringers ff14. That hero talent system though, chefs kiss. I LOVE my sunfury fire mage.
The delve system is pretty freakin fun. And this is coming from a WoW critic these past few expansions. Dropped the ball with WOD, BFA, and shadowlands but y’all seemed to have rebounded.
Im enjoying war within and this 20th anniversary. A dracthyr mage!??.. way to go Blizzard. Im impressed.
I did buy TWW but was horribly burnt out after Plunderstorm>Remix>Prepatch. The destruction of Dalaran and then the guild bank fiasco tipped the scales and I took a break from the game after the first week or two of launch, having quested in Khaz Algar only far enough to unlock travel to Dornogal and end the phasing issues I was having in Legion’s Dalaran.
I came back just last week for the anniversary, and honestly, I’ve been enjoying myself as well. I think a lot of the negativity usually (not always) stems from the raiding/mythic/pvp scene. Complaints about class balance, loot tables, end-game content, etc. I think the landscape content is pretty much the same fare that we had in Dragonflight and perfectly fine.
Garrisons are the only part of Draenor I liked (the closest we’ve ever gotten to player housing), and I never played BFA or SL, so I can’t make too many comments there. Legion will forever be my favorite (where I spent most of my time), but DF wasn’t too bad.
Dragonflight was okay and pretty fun, but after how they upset most of the player base, its hard to win back the trust. I was in a bad financial situation and still am but managed to get the war within as a gift.
I love my dracthyr because i can fly solo, be a fire mage and play casually if i want and just enjoy the content. Servers lag a bit but nothing major.
Yep, this is pretty much where everything seems to be a hot mess. You can tell the QA team is not doing a job, nor is the balancing team, though I’m thankful that balancing is being done weekly with the occasional hotfix.
Another thing that bothers a lot of people is the amount of bugs. I don’t think I have seen an expansions with sooo many bugs.
Honeymoon phase lasted pretty long for me this go. The true test is around the 2 month mark. Anniversary is alright. It was rough on it early, but it’s got more content than I originally thought it did.
TWW did a lot of things right, but I think it should utilize it’s world more.
