No matter if I click or use a keyboard shortcut it says “target is too close” anyone with this same problem?
if i had to guess you are using a macro and somehow put @player instead of @cursor in it

Happened to me as well at the start of the expansion after maintenance. I updated addons, relogged a couple times and it was fixed. Not sure what the cause was

I had this happen in a Mist key and breaking the mind link got very awkward. I had some weird bug happen earlier that I think caused it, but it has been over a week so I don’t recall all the particulars, just the frustration.
I think what fixed it was a full log out. Not just a quick in and out either, like log out, log in with a different toon, log out again, log back in with my warrior.
I’m having this same issue and its annoying AF. I can’t find a single thing about this except this post. I’ve done everything I can including some posted here and nothing works. I simply have mine keybound to Alt-2.
