Well which is it, was the pet irrelevant so buffs on it were irrelevant, or was the pet just as important as the enemy team’s fc, making buffs on that pet entirely relevant. TY Skeram flushing their balls down the toilet for good by refusing to play with an alternate pet on one of two hunters.
My guild's wsg team got DQ'd in the summer bowl over an unavoidable and nonremovable 300 hp pet buff
The issue is unequal enforcement of rules. Both sides do things that are questionable…only 1 side got punished. Except having a buffed pet isn’t literally against the law while participating in a state where e-sports for money isn’t allowed literally is against the law.

No more than swapping one hunter pet for another should affect the outcome. Seems TY Skeram felt it would … or it wouldn’t … they really gave a mixed answer by refusing to go against PTL.

Whats to say that if the hunter swapped pets the new pet would not have gotten the same buff as well…then what would the point of changing pets be?

My premade ended up afking out of a game due to VC turtling and picking up/dropping the flag over and over. They have done this for hours and hours to other premades. It’s pretty hypocritical for them to care here.

The rules also state that players from certain states are ineligible to participate. Should a team defying these rules be removed from the tournament?

It’s not like it’s easy to swap your pet. You have to go to the stablemaster which is on the other side of the city, and if the buff really is getting dropped all the time then it’d probably just get dropped again as soon as you swap pets.
Tournament was an embarrassment as Blizzard cannot be bothered to do the bare minimum.
They just keep engaging in behavior that shows they’re thoughtless/don’t care.
Purge all the buffs off everybody/everything when players zone into an instance? Obviously too hard.
Maybe if you hadn’t fired all your GMs (who you were paying poverty wages to anyways despite Blizzard Ent being located on one of the more expensive areas of the country…) you’d still have GMs to help out with tournaments/customer issues.

sounds like blizzard needs to fix their buggy game. i dont recall the stam buff ever persisting through death on OG vanilla.
(the only buffs that did were the heart of hakkar wbuff, which was changed in a later patch not to persist). the fact that blizzard fails to fix their bugs which unironically interferes with their “Esport” should be a red flag in any companies book.
maybe next time they should host the tournament on a Test realm environment and not live servers. also add in the option to remove all buffs upon entering a Wargame (similar to arena) since wargames are already a CUSTOM game mode… just my thoughts…
Really sucks to see it, sorry OP. You guys wiped them clean. Embarrassing tournament overall. The production level is garbage, low fps the first week of the tourney for viewers. Scoreboard constantly gets messed up. No indication about kills on the screen. And now this.
Ven and Ziqo always do a great job tho, no complains on their part.
To everyone complaining about the turtle strat - that’s what WSG is. You think VC doesn’t do this too? You turtle the roof and/or the druid kites around the base. That’s how you play D in WSG.

Lul so both cheaters and bad sports cool story. Sounds like the guys complaining about a 300hp pet buff are the biggest losers XD. If you get wrecked take it like men jeez.

Warsong Gulch is capture the flag. First to three captures wins.
Typically, and most effectively, teams set up five on defense and five on offense when both teams are carrying flags. This allows you an opportunity to kill the enemy FC, while also allowing you an opportunity to protect your own FC.
Setting up 10 on defense and 0 on offense–as TY SKERAM did–is not “how you play D in WSG.” This tactic literally makes it impossible to kill the enemy FC. Your only chance of winning is an enemy forfeiture. Or, in the case of this joke of a tournament, the expiration of an artificial time limit. Traditionally, you cannot win WSG except by capturing all three flags. This is how the game was designed so many years ago. In order to satisfy the tournament schedule, however, Blizzard made the mistake of adding a second win condition: a time limit.
What TY SKERAM did is the equivalent of putting 10 soccer players on defense and 0 on offense when the score is still 0-0. Then “winning” because the referees get fed up and decide the winning team is whoever controlled the ball for a larger % of the game…
I honestly don’t blame TY SKERAM or Vampire Clan. I blame Blizzard. It was a joke of a tournament, and this was a joke of a situation. GG Blizzard

“yeah why didn’t ty skeram just predict that they were going to accidently get a buff that they can’t remove, then predict they’ll beat vc, then predict that vc would tell the admins about a buff that was irrelevant, then predict that the admins would side with vc despite not caring before and go and buy 50 magic buffs off the auction house or hire 30 druids to push the buff off? they weren’t even trying to capture the flag!”

No its not, WSG is about capping the flag 3 times not turtling in the roof till the game ends. That team sucked, was abusing terrible tournament rules and ended up losing to another $hitty rule. Hilarious to say the least.
