Your team was given an opportunity to replay the match which im assuming you foolishly argued about so they DQ’d you instead. Hard turtling for 30 minutes is boring as hell to watch so I think they did everyone a favor by getting rid of you. Big rip.
My guild's wsg team got DQ'd in the summer bowl over an unavoidable and nonremovable 300 hp pet buff
They’d already won the match at that point. The buff can’t be removed by players, and Blizz who runs the tourney has neither fixed this or done their duty and made it so all buffs are removed when players enter a tourney BG.
Blizz has been ignoring some rule violations, yet also letting an illegal player participate without doing anything.
This entire thing would be avoidable if the buff itself was something you could remove, or if Blizz themselves were removing buffs. So its a double failure on the tourney administrator’s part, and then coupled with a third failure of wishy washy enforcement of the rules that would make a FIFA ref cringe.
If Blizz had even an ounce of competency the match should have started with the admin checking each side for buffs, removing ones that players are unable to remove themselves BECAUSE BLIZZ MADE IT SO THEY CANNOT, and of course getting rid of the VC player breaking the law.
DQ’ing a team for something that team has no control over but the tournament admin does have control over is so outrageously farcical it belongs on Monty Python.
The officially Blizzard approved tournament with a real money prize pool is the reason you got DQ’d over a technicality.
I bet VC whined and moaned about it to get your team DQ’d before Blizzard took action but it has nothing to do with corruption, it was a legal issue.
The “buff” he got was being allowed to participate at all when others in the same situation were denied entry.
Hey man as someone tangentially involved the hunter pet was not the problem. It was the warlock pet. No way to remove the buff off the felhunter they were told to rematch without it. That’s a silence a dispellagic and 60 to all resistances on the warlock.
sloppy preparation
How did the other team get someone to reply to them with in 24 hours?
Man when I try and talk to blizzard I have to wait until the next day to get a generic response from someone trying to just close tickets as fast as possible.
Just an FYI slipry was trying to hit on girls in AV while ranking
“stomping them 80 hks to 14.”
That was one buffed pet, hunters confirmed OP and able to carry teams on their back.
Hunter/Warlock pets confirmed OP Auction House wingmen, perfect to keep u from being mugged at AH, impossible to dismiss, will always have your back in friendly cities.
Did you really want to beat up a bunch of smelly nerds that decided to hold a tournament during a fire festival knowing that they can call out an insignificant pet buff to prove how smelly they are?
I mean…
Yes in hindsight this is what you need to do however they were not alone in not foreseeing this problem, while VC did not get the buff there is VC VoDs showing there hunter and warlocks with their pets out in SW as they buy consumes. There is also evidence other teams received the buff and were allowed to play with it indicating they didn’t forsee it either. Since most buffs are removable its usually not a big deal or something that has to be done. The glitched buff is new.
Should’ve flexed harder.
The big issues here are:
The rules weren’t enforced evenly across the team’s.
The host (Blizzard) didn’t create a controlled environment for the tournament…despite being the company who also happens to be the game maker.
The way the tournament was handled damages people’s interest in future tournaments.
wow, 80 hks to 14 and they do this trash because of a pet buff? So that 300 pet stam killed 70 noobs huh? I don’t even know anything about the WoW competitive BG scene but if this it what it’s like I don’t want to. Smells like hot garbage.
As lame as the rule is, it still is a rule. If you decide not to follow the rules you get to deal with the repercussion. The 30 stam buff most certainly didn’t affect the match but on the other side of this whole ordeal the hunter knew his pet had an illegal buff and still used his pet. Why?
The OP also is misleading with the title making it seem like blizzard disqualified the TY Skeram team. Blizzard only ruled that one of the players on the winning team played with the use of an illegal buff, nullified the win and arranged a rematch. Why didn’t TY Skeram just agree to a rematch? In my eyes this makes their team look just a pitiful and whiney as VC was when they were grasping at straws and got lucky with a lame rule being broken.
If this tourney was as big a deal as the TY Skeram team are making it out to be all over the forum and reddit, why not just agree to rematch? I understand the rule was stupid but some laws are stupid, you still have to follow them.
Disclaimer: I’m by no mean a VC fan boy, they were reaching for anything to get back in this tourney after getting their whooped. TY Skeram looks just like VC complaining literally EVERYWHERE when they had the opportunity to play the match over but declined then decided to whine. Both teams are looking like clowns to me.
Completely avoidable. Other teams were not having to rush the AH between matches, that is just very very lazy and sloppy preparation. You have a bank, every toon does, that bank is accessible in Gadgetzan, where there are no buffs to worry about. Load your bank, access it from Gadget between matches, and then you don’t look like fools who got caught being lazy and decided to cry to the forums about it.
I would love to hear a rebuttal from them. Your post seems pretty incontrovertible. Have they said anything in response?
Why would they agree for a rematch when the same exact thing happened during the tournament and it never ended up in a rematch ?
The problem isn’t the rule being applied, it’s the rule not being applied the same way for every team.
TY Skeram made the correct decision by refusing the rematch. VC doesn’t deserve the rules to be different for them and it’s not the first rule that is applied differently for them (Arizona player in VC is allowed to compete while both Arizona players from TY Skeram had to be replaced).
That’s the problem with the situation. If they had ordered a rematch for every single game where the Hunter or Warlock pet had the fire festival match, everyone would be edging towards VC in this wow-classic-drama-beef-episode-202, but since it wasn’t applied AT ALL in the previous game…I do understand TY Skeram to be pissed about it.
Because they’d already won, and it was clear the buff had no effect on the win, and frankly Blizz should have stripped the buff to start with as the reason it can’t be removed is their fault in the first place.
Blizz has failed 3 times here-
1- that the buff is bugged and can’t be removed
2- that they aren’t removing the buffs themselves or setting up tourney servers that remove the buffs for them
3- inconsistently allowing some teams to play with the buff and others not to
People are right to be holding Blizz responsible for this- this isn’t TYS or even VC’s fault- this is Blizz’s fault as tourney admins for doing such a bad job they created three separate, massive failures all within their control that let this happen in the first place.
