Myself and my guild mates are all leaving WoW Classic and closing Battle.net accounts due to an unjust automated ban on a guildie’s account for “botting”. Our friend (whom we know in real life) has never botted on WoW, and yet was met with a 6-month suspension for the alleged crime, issued nothing but an automated email with no evidence or additional information.
Appeals were met with the same AUTOMATED emails.
If this is how you handle all of your business, Blizzard, then it’s only a matter of time before YOU are automated. Enjoy your UBI paychecks. I hear the cheese is good.

I do believe we need to amend the current laws to make it illegal to revoke a game license without providing evidence to the consumer. I don’t care if it makes Blizz job harder.
Hopefully EU can lead the way with this along with Stop Killing Games.

Blizzard really needs to look in to this. I doubt they even look at these forums anymore, but seriously, by not looking in to appeal and just punishing our friend for no reason is outrageous. We just want to play a game we grew up with together. Now that he’s suspended everyone is jaded seems to be split on what we want to do/play as a group. Please do right by us and your community blizzard. Remember who got you to where you are now…SMH
I just cancelled my account today for only the second time in 20 years. I can no longer stand the toxicity of the player base, the false bans, the lack of real customer support when needed, the direction of Retail, the changes in classic content (Cata, and now MOP). Not to mention the other game franchises Blizzard has failed on - Diablo and Overwatch.
Not giving them once cent going forward and finally getting off the treadmill. If they get their act together, or launch a new game, we’ll see. But for now, it’s over.

there are no automatic suspensions 
such a system would create far more trouble than it’s worth. if you got banned for botting, it’s because you tripped some kind of red flag and a human being considered it evidence enough for a ban. maybe it was just a fancy addon.

Why do people actually believe that the automation only applies to silence/squelch it doesn’t. I got suspended because of the system it isn’t until you try to appeal that a HUMAN gets involved
People who think/believe there are no automated suspensions are clueless on how the system actually is

You can absolutely get suspended automatically if 3rd party automation software (or something that appears as such) is detected on your system when running wow.
A ban is justified if botting software is caught, but I think we need laws requiring blizzard to supply evidence to you before revoking your game license.
Or a human glanced at the evidence, thought to themselves “I’m too busy / tired / hungry / don’t care / etc” and proceeded to swing the banhammer because that was the easiest thing to do.

You should visit the customer service forum sometime, and see all the folks getting called out by the CS reps posting actual details of what went down.

I respect the solidarity with your friend.
I’d suggest they appeal, if it was an unjust ban it should be overturned.
But if you all do decide to move in for realies , best of luck in wherever your gaming journey takes you.

Do you trust your friends 100% that they’re actually telling the truth? Also there are various kinds of bots, there are bots that play your character’s rotation, bots that kick casts, bots that target and cast heals, bots that automatically dispel, bots that apply debuffs.
These are but a very small sample of the bots that are both common and will get a player banned.

Also to add, any multiboxxing software will hit you with the same 6 month automatic ban for third party software.
