Hey all, so this kinda caught me by surprise but I play this game with my two partners. We have somewhat of a complicated relationship, it’s myself (26M), my gf (23F) and our boyfriend (28M) and we all live together and essentially do everything together as we are looking to eventually get married and have children soon.
I understand our relationship set up is a bit unorthodox to say the least, but we are all great people and if you met any of us inrl we’re very easy going and love chatting with folks!
So typically we don’t play together all the time, but this time we decided to join this raid group off LFG and so my partners and I jump into their Discord and everything is normal. It’s nothing odd.
We then had the raid lead doing name check to make sure we’re all on Discord, and he called out our girlfriend’s name and she responded and the raid lead and I guess some of his friends started cat calling her.
It was very weird, and creepy and they heard she’s a woman so they started asking her what her real name was and if she has anyone to play WoW with and stuff like that.
Naturally myself and our boyfriend start to open our mic and we let them know she’s taken, we’re in a relationship and this starts this whole discussion about us and we started getting laughed at and in the end the raid leader kick both me and our BF and kept our GF in there.
The raid lead whispered me in-game and called me the “F” slur and told me to gtfo, and our GF came out of the call crying because apparently they had started asking her very personal questions about her body and stuff after they had kicked us out.
We of course reported the people in the raid, reported their Discord server to Discord and we also recorded this on video and will be uploading it later tonight when we get more time.
I just am at a loss of words, I know there is a Social Contract coming out soon so I hope that maybe curbs this rampant homophobia and womanizing culture that exists in Retail.
