a bug is an unintended code error that results in a game mechanic that is not known by the developers
placing a vendor with items for sale is not a mechanic with unintended consequences
its like publishing a picture of yourself online and forgetting to blur out your address in the background. Its just being stupid, and not a bug.
the gear should be deleted obviously but calling it a bug or exploit is not smart. They also should be very careful to not delete gear that is legit. If they in 2024 dont have a way to find this out, stop doing DEI hiring. The only people that should be slapped down are people that were doing obviously nefarious things like mass disenchanting items or showing they understood by their actions this vendor was not supposed to be there. Normal players just buying some pieces like a normal player would buy items from wotlk classic Dalaran raid vendors should not suffer for blizzardâs incompetence.
Correct. So people may feel one way or another about my situation specifically right? ok fine be an A hole if you want.
But imagine your good friend in real life you finally got to play WoW with you, his first raid he gets his first T2 item with you, does his first ZG ever, gets an idol. Goes farming with you all weekend to be able to afford to enchant it. Logs in after maintenance and gives you a call âbro did you know they were going to just add a vendor for the gear for the new update?â âYup im good to go nowâ and he loses his first ever helmet in world of warcraft. after 10 years of trying to convince him to play.
Does he deserve to lose his hard earned helmet? If you can even save this player from quitting in the first place. What a HELL of an experience for this person after all these years.
And if you think i am reaching. This is mostly a real story. I did just get a couple IRL friends to play and they are here for this.
The lesson learned here for me will directly reflect what is done about this and directly let me know how the developers feel about their biggest fans, die hard players, and people bringing friends to SoD!
Iâm wondering if deleting the character and restoring it after they ran their script (lets be real, no one went through âby handâ) if it would have âgone under the radarâ.
((Realistically, they should just add T1 and maybe T2 to the Reals Vendor; 125 reals for the T2 bracer gives us an idea of how much the tokens would costâŚprobably 125 for bracer/belt and 250 for everything else. - BTW: Wrath allowed you to get raid gear via badges awarded from running dungeonsâŚno one complained; this isnât Era.))
Lots of people that did things like that and got away with it. then people like me who did nothing with it or tried to sell it back to the vendor once they realized, got gear they worked for, for months just stripped.
