I went to check my game only to find that my frinds list for WOW and battlenet are gone.

Ah, came here looking for info about this. Hopefully they can let us know wtf is happening.
Same here, friend list vanished this morning and hasn’t come back - tried everything suggested in other internet searches such as clearing battle.net cache, uninstalling / reinstalling the battle.net client, reloading the game several times, toggling online/offline status, restarted my computer etc. etc. nothing has restored it so I can only hope its something on blizzard’s side.
Update as of 2:35 PM CST, this seems to be fixed for me
