That’s almost a month of lockout.
Now just wondering if you are one of the 6-8 players on the bench, would you stay on for weeks doing nothing ? I’m sure it’s no fun .
How do your guild handle lockouts and players on the bench?
I mean for myself I only join guilds where I can get an instant core spot. I can sit out for bosses but I don’t see myself waiting weeks while the guild lockouts completely killing a single boss. Is there a better system than wow’s mythic locking out ?
From what I’ve seen, the people doing this sort of thing aren’t exactly happy that they have to do it either.
Reasons why it sucks:
No vault loot
No early boss loot that might be important (trinkets, weapons, etc)
It’s weeks of keeping people happy while being unable to bring others until you get it down and probably constant fighting on the recruitment boss.
However, the alternative is to waste your limited time hoping you can reclear that one stupid boss that they created that you vowed to never fight again because it was a steaming hot pile of garbage to do (SLG, from all accounts)
To be fair only one person has to sacrifice their lockout unless its Mythic.
If you mean Heroic then yes there is a good reason many guilds are 9/10 H but start Mythic prog. Slyvanas is like they drew out Denathrius’ fight with lots of filler down time, and having a trash dps check added in phase 2 that can still bug out and make the pull pointless because she started casting ruin early.
I’d join pugs after the guilds raiding days were over and get as many kills for the vault as I could
Yea this really is stupid. Mythic lock out should work like heroic lockout so people are free to prog with their guild on guild raid nights and do earlier bosses on off nights if they want.
This is not difficulty. Accessibility is fake difficulty and needs to be removed feom the game.
This is why raiding is dieing and blizz having to constantly do things to make raiding more apealing like nerf pvp gear and m+ gear and all that is killing the game.
There is 0 reason for mythic raid ID lockout to exist in 2021 and for mythic to not be cross realm from begining.

If your on mythic Slyvanas your literally ahead of 99% of the player base and this is way a first world WoW problem.
Mind you I do agree its stupid Mythic lockout works different than Heroic and below lockout.
With the one I used to run with they had 1 player who would keep the lockout from week to week, who would raid exclusively on one day, while the rest of us would do our own thing on another day to try and snag the lesser bosses. Ended up with a lot of us missing 4 or 5 bosses during the week but we at least got enough gear to get an AoTC.
I agree with this. Mythic lockout should be done away with.
That’s heroic. On mythic, if you kill a boss you are now saved to that exact lockout for the rest of the week. If you kill the first 3 with a pug you won’t be able to join your guild raid that’s locked to sylvanas. You’ll just keep zoning into the 3/10 even if no one else is in there.
Just so everyone knows, most progression teams rotate the roster around during long progression so everyone gets to play. (At least the good ones do.)
“Is there a better system?” Yes, the one most progression guilds use: rotate the roster.
Also doubt the OP’s claim about “his friend” is true. This is more likely just another story he made up to start yet another thread trash-talking raid guilds.
That said, Great Vault could help a lot here by allowing people to “bank” kill credits during early prog and reclears, then redeem those kill credits for GV boxes during extend periods. I’ve suggested such a system on this forum, before.

While getting all 25 or whatever to play is nice, there’s still the issue of no loot or vault coming from reclearing which could be 252 veinrippers, trinkets, the str 2h sword and other stuff.
I don’t raid at that level though so I’ll leave any decisions up to those that do + blizzard

Like I said, kills should give “kill credits” that you can spend at the GV to unlock boxes during weeks when you didn’t get any kills.
Lowering raid drop rates and giving raiders a Mythic+ system instead was stupid, when the systems are so totally different.
