My fps is has gone to crap

Crap is a nice way to put it. Ive gone from a huge 75 fps in val to 40. Nothing on my end has changed. All drivers are up to date including graphics. Hardware is the same. My 5 year old laptop on windows 10 runs better than this. I just renewed but I think I will probably cancel again. I cant play at 40 fps with any real accuracy.

I’m not a techie, so I don’t know why this happens, but for some patches or maintenance I’ll have the same problem- low frame rate- but only for a couple of weeks and then it goes back to normal. Maybe something my comp needed to update? Idk.

Have you disabled addons? For me, an odd drop in fps usually has to do with an outdated or otherwise inefficient addon.

Have you tried lowering graphic settings as well?

Yea i bought a new msi curved monitor and gaming rig a couple months ago… playing at 165 fps at 1440… going back to my old pc 1080p at 45-50 fps is unplayable lol…

It sounds ridiculous but its true i tell ya

Idk I play on a 4k monitor and have a really crappy 1070ti I’m sure I lag a lot in big raids but my frames are fine in every other form of content. Either way OP is being dramatic.

No, it’s running outdated addons. After a few weeks developers update their addons and the problem disappears.

Ah ok thanks for the info! I’ll pay more attention to addons.

In Valdrakken my FPS drops by like 60%. It’s valkdrakken specifically.

Always try a full UI reset in these situations. It solved someone else’s same issue a few days ago.

Yeah,I had an issue like that windows had an up date ,so I load it and it worked out.

Yeah. It’s not even all of Valdrakken, just the area around the AH/training dummies where everyone likes to hang out. Otherwise, the only time my fps dips is in the community events where there are a ton of people mashing buttons.

I recently upgraded my GPU, but my poor 7 year-old CPU (that was mediocre when I bought it) just isn’t up to the task sometimes.

There are some addons that will cause this behavior when the game is patched. MoveAnything used to do this sometimes. Anyway, whatever it is I hope you find a solution.

Yeah this would happen to me with Windows 10. The issue seemed to resolve itself after moving to Windows 11. No, I do not work for Microsoft lol.

You got any specs you can share? Hard to say what’s happening without knowing how beefy your machine is, or what stuff you’re running in the background.

Turn off Ray Traced Shadows, every now and then, after an update, the game will flick 'em on automatically. Played 3 months on classic with Ray Traced shadows afore I realized it.

I fired up Diablo 1 the other day and I quickly realized that it was capped at 30 FPS.

It was, i turned it off, much better also all settings were turned to ultra and whatnot. Its much better now. My little 3060 couldnt handle it I guess.
