My fleeting moment of WoW semi-fame (Don't Tase Me Bro!)

Many years ago, back at the time of Burning Crusade, there was a meme floating around about a young man at the University of Florida who was involved in a ruckus, and as a security guard was approaching him, he shouted, “Don’t Tase Me Bro!”.

I had the clever idea of creating a post on the Wow forums using that battle cry. There was an amazing trinket from Karazhan called The Lightning Capacitor, which was highly prized and widely discussed on the WoW forums. I created a post with a title declaring that the trinket was about to be changed. And in the post I said the change would be the addition of flavor text to the trinket, “Don’t Tase Me Bro!”. The post got attention and I enjoyed the feedback, mostly fun-positive but a few detractors.

Those were my days of glory. I have fallen far since then, but I still persevere in this World of Warcraft.

I’m still convinced Blizzard ripped off my name

I was orc (using the black DK skin so I could be BlackRock orc) and was vocally pro Garrosh

Then they introduced Malkorok the BlackRock orc who was a Garrosh fanatic

Not really fame but I fell asleep while main tanking Marrowgar on my pally when it was current. I blacked out at ~95% and woke up right before he died without losing threat.

I was ridiculed by another streamer for a post I made.

Well played. Our main pally tank’s aggro was pretty ridiculous, I remember.

way back in the day there was this guy named Pancakes who made videos in which he trolled a large number of people. I was in the video in which he caused a full 40 man raid to jump off thunder bluff.

I know, I know, don’t crowd me for signatures now.

Blizz named an area of frostfire ridge after me. Then they turned it into a backhand by adding a quest called Assault on Magnarok.

My claim to fame is being one of the best NPCs in WoW’s suckiest or second suckiest expansion. (I actually predate the SL NPC by a whole BFA)
