My World of Warcraft retail version would not launch on my new Windows 11 computer. I followed all the steps listed and nothing. Running as admin did nothing at first and trying to launch the game from the wow folder itself did nothing.
After this I backed up my add ons, then I deleted the Add Ons, Cache and WTF folders. After that I ran the battle.net app as admin and the game actually started an update. After it updated, the game launched no issue. So I closed it out, moved my backed up add ons back into the retail folder, then closed it all out. I restarted WOW from the Battle.net launcher and the game launched successfully.
