My Electrifying Date with a Serpent in Warsong Gulch

Hey fellow Azerothians,

I just had an electrifying experience in Warsong Gulch, and I need to share it with you. Picture this: a serene battleground, flags waving in the wind, and then - BAM! Out of nowhere, I’m hit with a ‘Lightning Breath’ from a serpent pet that delivers a whopping 29 Nature damage and a critical overkill of 235! Talk about shock therapy!

Now, I’ve read on Wowhead about a 20% damage reduction in Warsong Gulch for Season of Discovery, but it seems like these serpent pets didn’t get the memo. They’re out there breathing lightning like it’s going out of style, completely unfazed by the rules that bind the rest of us.

Indeed, Blizzard has made steps in the right direction by nerfing pet health and survivability, which is commendable. However, the damage output is still wild. It seems every hunter is now running a serpent pet. They are the new Scorpid 2.0 - busted and overpowered.

Is this the new norm? Are we just mannequins in a serpent’s target practice? I’m all for a challenge, but when a pet’s breath packs more punch than a tavern brawl in Ironforge, you’ve got to wonder: what’s the plan here?

Blizzard, are we testing the limits of our health insurance, or are we unwittingly auditioning for a role in a nature documentary titled “When Serpents Rule PvP”? Curious minds demand answers!

So, fellow players, let’s hear your thoughts. Have you faced these shockingly powerful pets? Are we in the middle of a serpent uprising? Should I start a support group for those of us who’ve been on the receiving end of this electrifying experience?

Stay safe out there, and remember - if you see a flash of light, it’s probably not a camera.

Warm regards,
Notfine :-*

Thanks such a great story. Thank you for sharing.

No problem! Thanks for being on the forums!

FYI - This was written by AI but the facts remain <3

Pets do not receive the 25% damage done Aura that players do in WSG.

ewwwwwwwwwwwww :face_vomiting:

Listen. You cant nerf ALL the pets. Serpent ability remains the same as it was in era. Not broken. The level bracket is broken.

Before posting something like this you should ask yourself the most important question there is:

Who asked?

You’re so cringe.

It’s actually not, it just delivers its damage in bursts when compared to other pets.

Scorpid was literally broken and needed fixing as it was a weird interaction with how bonus damage was applied to the dot ticks rather than the whole dot.

These Hunters have specced every talent and rune into their pets as it’s the only viable play. You’d expect them to do that much damage.

Also with a hit that strong it would suggest they’re close to BiS.

All the sooks have already got their way with kill command not working with LB anymore.

Ironically, this is double wrong. Its been tested and confirmed that hunter pets are doing the same 20% reduced damage that everyone else is, but do not take the same 20% reduced damage.

That means enemy players effectively deal +25% damage to hunter pets compared to any other target they can attack in WSG.

Imagine as a rogue you put all 16 skill points buffing your sinister strike and then used all 3 runes to buff sinister strike

Then when you used sinister strike it did 6 damage, would that make sense?

Or would you rather expect sinister strike to be strong?
