My disenchanting tree is max.. why am i still getting rank 1 mats?

Tittle. i maxed the Disenchanter tree, i have max enchanting yet i still get rank 1 mats while disenchanting? or even using gleaming shatter (on rank 3 shards too) I would expect maxxing the DE tree you would stop getting rank 1 and just see rank 2 and 3 mats.

Something is seriously broken with professions.

Unsure how it works, maybe you’ll stop seeing rank 1’s when you get the three max quality tool/accessories and get 100/100 enchanting but I doubt it.

Do you have blue accessories and the epic tool?

I have max tools/accessories I still get rank 1 mats with my maxed out D.E. Tree. Even with shattering buff on me. I feel like I wasted 120 points for nothing and now after the weekends nerf to D.E, I barely…barely get a single rank 3 mat now. I stopped getting rank 3 tbh. idk why they wanted to nerf and make us believe the D.E. tree is useful/working. it’s not. I wish I used my points for something else tbh

Their goal this expansion was to ensure that rank 1 mats never became ‘extinct’. They wanted to ensure that - even at max - rank 3s wouldn’t be super common.

This ensures a strong gatherer’s market even late into the expansion, if handled right.

Well, even if I wanted I would not be able to craft rank 1 tailoring bolts since my unraveling and bolt crafting skill is maxed, the minimum I can craft is R2 stuff now and guaranteed R3 with R3 mats but yeah, I guess the disparity between enchanting and other professions is a thing.

Guess they wanted enchanting to require concentration to do things because getting 100 R3 dust to guarantee a craft without concentration is just not worth it at all whatsoever, you’re better off just banking on ingenuity procs and using R1 mats.

Difference between crafted mats and gathered mats. Yees, you can no longer craft rank 1 bolts, but you still FIND rank 1 cloth. And even with maxed bismuth mining I still FIND rank 1 bismuth. And even with maxed arathor spear herbalism I still find rank 1 arathor spear and even with maxed disenchant you still get rank 1 disenchanting mats.

The goal was not to ensure that crafters couldn’t craft better stuff but that there was always a limited supply of rank 3 gathered mats.

Yes but with tailoring and mining I find more R2 than R1 (at least to my personal experience) whereas with enchanting you’re lucky if you get 10% of your dust be R3

Not saying the ratios are correct in enchanting, to be clear, just that if you expect to ‘graduate’ from finding rank 1, you’ll be disappointed because the intent is very much that that NOT be what happens.

My experience in mining/herbalism is that it becomes about 50/30/20 at max skill, personally.

for mining and i believe herbing (havent looked this expac) you can combine lower mats into higher rank materials, there is no such thing for enchanting.

You will always get rank 1 materials with a chance of them rolling into a higher rank. Blizz doesn’t want the market to crash. That’s why rank 2 and rank 3 are more rarer.

Unfortunately, speccing into disenchanting raises only the ceiling of material quality, not the floor.

That’s still fine. If people can hit a point where you stop getting rank 1 mats, then the market becomes nonsense where nobody buys rank 1 mats at all and yet they’re somehow more expensive than rank 3 mats.

That was the lesson they learned from the idiocy that was dragonflight’s gathering. And its a good one.

Putting ranks on enchanting mats was such a stupid decision. Unlike herbalism and mining there are no world nodes for enchanting and unlike tailoring and skinning there is no specific mob type that drops materials.

A miner gets rank 1 Bismuth they just fly 10 feet to another Bismuth node and try again. An enchanter gets a rank 1 Refulgent Crystal the don’t get to just try again.
