I hope they get this fad out of their system soon. They can’t even use the AH or ask for help while questing. Why would any gamers put themselves through that experience?

I think it’s great that players do this.
Hardcore is popular, go play Diablo, those players know what they are doing, it’s a great way to improve yourself.
I think it would be fun if WoW had a true hardcore mode, where you cannot die ever, or it’s over.

I imagine playing a hardcore WoW Classic character is like playing D3 by yourself on nightmare mode right after it launched. Now it’s like, “New weapon dropped. Time to raise the torment level a few levels.”
Game is better when you don’t restrict yourselves to horrid rules. Wow leveling isn’t something to do alone, if we get no death servers I’ll hop on the train but classic sucks solo.
I just don’t understand. They don’t have
a chauffeur mount, have no gear and questing is actually dangerous.
How is that fun?

In Diablo 3 can you still do powerleveling with your friends in hardcore or can you only group with other hardcore players?

I don’t understand the craze either, I thought vanilla was hot garbage even compared to SL.
But they enjoy it and that’s all that matters.

Last time I played D3 weapon didnt seem very relevant it was mostly 1-2 legendary powers that add 11,000% damage and screen clearing ability and then you hold down the button on max torment level.
Is this like the ironman thing?

Is there a hardcore option built into the game on classic or is it on the honor system for now?
It’s the honor system for now, though there are rumors swirling about that blizzard is going to do an official server.
I’m with OP though, after a few months no one will be talking about or caring about this and they’ll all be chasing the next fad.

Because it’s fun and tests the players knowledge of their class, zones, quest rewards and threats, and individual world mob mechanics.

Make the carrot on the stick more enticing and difficult to reach. Makes acquiring feel better.
I say this as a shiny hunter in Pokemon. I worked hard to get my all shiny team in Sword and goddangit I’m proud of all of the ones in my collection

why speedrunners exist, why nohitruns exist, why anything exist.
it’s the natural evolution of playing wow like a singleplayer game.
i’m on my 4th toon, after the first died to : murloc village at 19, vulture at 11 and gnoll camp at 24.

Vanilla was good when it was out live the first time, not because it was actually good, but it was new. And for those quest with a friend players, I guarantee you most of us levelled and quested solo back when we first started playing vanilla, it’s nothing like it is now.
But going back, for me that’s a pass, I tried and it’s just so bad now compared to retail. Maybe if they re-released the entire game as it is now with a true hardcore more, one where the server itself will delete your character, but also with the old levelling times, that might be good with all the new updated graphics and QoL changes over the years.
