I tried all 3 specs on my mage and spec’d the talents according to the recommendations of icy veins and even wowhead. She had a difficult time downing mobs quickly, so I thought, ok, let me try my warlock. I spec’d my lock as destruction, and wow, she quickly downs mobs and hits like a mage prior to the changes for TWW. What is doing on? LOL

Idk what you’re on about but destro is and has been the worst of the 3 warlock specs for years. Frost mage is doing more damage with ice lances than destro does with chaos bolts and they are instant cast. This is either rage bait or you’re completely out of touch.

Yeah, but I’m the only one at full health in groups where massive damage goes out, while the Mage is locking the floor. And I can solo stuff without being insanely squishy. I survive it all while Mages freak out in their ice block.
Don’t care if it does less damage. At least I’m alive.
Edited to add an addendum: if you took that seriously… then you don’t remember the old joking around people used to do about this and I’m just old with old jokes.

Sure, but that has nothing to do with being destro and 100% to do with being a warlock. We are the tanky caster class. We have damage reduction and 60 a second heal with no mobility. Mage has 5 blinks, a full heal, and 2 blocks.
The issue is that chaos bolt hits like a sheet of one ply toilet paper with an eternity long cast time, while ice lance is instant cast and hitting for twice the damage.
You’re slowly convincing me that you’re secretly Xaryu’s alt accounts. Desperately making sure frost mage doesn’t get nerfed

Destro is comparable to Mage. Just a better version of a Mage, imo. Mages do great damage. But I like surviving more than cowering in an ice block.
Granted, I can’t play Fire worth my life, I do like Arcane, but haven’t tried Frost in ages.
I just enjoy my Destro Lock and like poking the bear over our survivability.

Destro is doing the least damage out of all the warlock specs in logs. It’s objectively less damage. And mages objectively more damage, in all of their specs, than destro.

I love me some destro in earlier versions of the game. I think it’s the most fun to play when it’s good.
But at the same time, I’m glad affliction is having its time to shine.

I’ll take demolock any day of the week over any mage spec.
Lock can stand up to crap, has its own tank and in combat health regen.
Mage is a good support class for raiding and such in a group with a healer at your back, but way too irritating trying to survive when you get mobbed compared to any warlock spec.

100% and I hope the pvp buff to UA will somewhat offset the corruption nerf on tuesday

I feel like my destruction does not hit hard. People have commented on my dps being low even though i feel like I am doing everything I can. Demonology hits much harder. Destruction seems tougher solo though. If that makes sense.

You mean Demo? Destro was only good for like the last 2 months of DF S4 and it still wasn’t the best of the 3, just to go straight back to being subpar at launch of TWW. They need to buff chaos bolt by like 80%, nerf shadowburn by 30% and nerf incinerate by 20%.
For large pulls it was better than demo in season 3 and season 4
