My Demonology Spec Tree Cook

Hey all,
I have played demonology since Legion and have had mixed feelings about the changes to demonology since. I have cooked up a spec talent tree as to how I feel it should look like (based off current alpha tree).

Key Notes

  1. I reduced the talents down to 46 with only 2 nodes that are 2-points. I kept the “skull” look of the tree. The way I arranged the tree was strategic and based off of talents working off each other.
  2. I removed all the choice nodes… I feel like choice nodes can be added here and there, However I did not do that design here. I think there are good talents hidden behind the choices and too many passive/boring talents. Remove the passive/boring talents and brought in the fun playstyle changing talents.
  3. I brought back Demonic Knowledge.
  4. I removed Demonic Brutality, Fiendish Prowess, Shadowcaster and Cavitation. Could even add these back as choice nodes against existing talents.
  5. Note the icons in the image below are not all the same per current alpha tree.
  6. Demonic Core economy and gameplay should stay. Please don’t nerf it, instead re-work the spec if you do not like demonic cores. I feel the player base likes demonic cores as it currently is.

Tier 1 Nodes

  1. Call Dreadstalkers: no changes
  2. Dreadlash: I switched it with Demoniac
  3. Demoniac: I switched it with Dreadlash, I feel that dreadstalkers should give a demonic core when they fade at 100% (please revert change).
  4. Soul Strike: separated from Vilefiend and replaces where Annihilan Training was. Bake the fel Invocation portion of the soul shard generation into the talent baseline.
  5. Implosion: moves up to where shadowcaster was
  6. Summon Vilefiend: no longer a choice node with Soul Strike.
  7. Doom: I moved doom here for a couple reasons. One, I don’t think it should be in tier 3. Two, usually you do not want to spend too many of your points in tier 1 so there are tough decisions to be made here.
  8. Demonic Strength: Moved and separated from Bilescourge Bombers.
  9. Spiteful Reconstitution: moved up to where Implosion was.
  10. Carnivorous Stalkers: I moved it to where Shadow’s Bite was.
  11. Fel Invocation: It stays and only has the Summon Vilefiend portion of the talent.
  12. Inner Demons: moved up to where Carnivorous Stalkers used to be. Probably needs a pathing from Demoniac.
  13. Pact of the Ered’ruin: This is one of the new talents in Alpha, I moved it to where Shadow Invocation used to be.
  14. Fel and Steel: no changes
  15. Improved Demonic Tactics: One of the new talents on Alpha, moved it to where Rune of Shadows was.

Tier 2 Nodes

  1. Shadow’s Bite: Moved down to where Power Siphon used to be.
  2. Malefic Impact: no change
  3. Demonic Knowledge: brought it back. Put it where Imp-erator used to be.
  4. Grimoire: Felguard: no change
  5. Demonic Calling: moved to where Spiteful Reconstitution used to be. I forgot the path from Shadow’s bite, but should be there.
  6. Rune of Shadows: new node position, paths from Shadow’s Bite
  7. Sacrificed Souls: moved to where Inner Demons used to be
  8. Power Siphon: moved to where Improved Demonic Tactics is in the alpha, prime center spot.
  9. Imp-erator: moved down to where Demonic Calling used to be
10 . Annihilan Training: moved to new node spot, paths from Grimoire: Felguard
  10. Fel Sunder: no change
  11. Ferocity of F’harg: one of the new talents in alpha, moved up to where Umbral Blaze was, reduced to one node (keeps the two node description)
  12. Dread Calling: switched with Imp Gang Boss and reduced to one node (keeps the two node description)
  13. Umbral Blaze: moved to where Demonic Brutality is in Alpha, reduced to one node (keeps the two node description)
  14. Imp Gang Boss: switched with Dread Calling and reduced to one node (keeps the two node description)
  15. Infernal Command: Moved up to where Cavitation was and reduced to one node (keeps two node description)

Tier 3 Talents

  1. Wicked Maw: no change from Alpha, I like it here and I think it is powerful in AOE setting
  2. Summon Demonic Tyrant: I moved it back to where it was and I added Soulbound Tyrant 5 shard gen to it.
  3. Immutable Hatred: moved it up to where Antoran Arnaments was.
  4. Bilescourge Bombers: I moved this down to where doom was because I would like to see a setting where this is played in an AOE setting and is tuned stronger (for being a tier 3 talent).
  5. Mark of Shatug: one of the new alpha talents, remains unchanged.
  6. Sworn Cultist: I made a new talent, which is just the dragonflight season 1 4-piece where demonbolt has a chance to make your next hand of gul’dan instant and deals XX more damage. 2 point node to increase the damage. I loved this 4-piece and I think it should be brought into our talent tree.
  7. Reign of Tyranny: no changes, just moved up and separated from Grand Warlock’s Design.
  8. Pact of the Imp Mother: no change
  9. The Expendables: no change
  10. Antoran Arnaments: moved down to where Infernal Command used to be.
  11. Shadow Invocation: moved down and I made it so that the description reads " your spells have a XX% chance to summon a Bilescourge Bomber" tune the number.
  12. Grand Warlock’s Design: bring back the old grand warlock’s design of every soul shard you spend reduces the cooldown of demonic tyrant by 1.5 seconds. Separated from Reign of Tyranny.
  13. Guillotine: separated from Immutable Hatred. Otherwise, no change.

I forgot the following pathing in the image:
Demoniac → Inner Demons
Shadow’s Bite → Demonic Calling
Improved Demonic Tactics → Grimoire: Felguard
