Im mashing out as many pyro blasts as i can, and my dps sits around like 500k. With combust on aoe i can get up to 1.2m but i see other fire mages pretty much doubling my damage. Im at 600 ilvl currently.
Ive been playing frost in mythic+ but would love to switch to fire cause its my favorite spec but i would definitely drag my group down.
I know its hard to tell what im doing wrong without seeing it, but could anyone offer me some pointers maybe? Or something you started doing that helped your dps.
Fire scales with Ilvl and stats. Tbh at 600 Ilvl that sounds like what you would be doing. Raise you Ilvl, work in getting haste and mastery.
Im currently at 24% haste, 11% mastery. You think maybe my mastery is too low? That seems really low actually
I see your problem, mastery too low. Plus not having the right fire talents could also bring your dps down too.
On WoWhead there are two different M+ builds.
Or is this about raid? I have to ask, because I’ve also seen a fire mage pop off in AoE and pushed to 700kish in a +4 stone vault.

Then it’s what’s a few others have said. Compared to what you should have, your mastery is too low. Most of your damage doesn’t come from your direct damage spells. Hasn’t for a long time.
Mixer of your damage actually comes from your mastery, Ignite. You want haste and mastery, then I think wowhead said vers. If what you have is mostly Crit and haste, then it’s better to run as frost or arcane fire the time being. Also take note, this is fire’s usual process. Usually fire doesn’t have the secondary stats to outperform frost or arcane at expansion launch. Thus time, it’s kind of also due to talents. Blizzard nerfed the hell out of living bomb.

Just my Opinion get your mastery up some and grab Master of flame gives you 15% more dmg to your ignite when combustion isn’t up and when combustion up gives your FB 2 additional ignites. That 15% racks up quickly on your CD of combustion.
Ashen feather as well specially on bosses.
