My Cooking Fire Keeps Disappearing in Stormwind!

I was just leveling up my cooking, when I tried to use my cooking fire. When I did, it would totally disappear. I tried a few times but it kept on happening. I disabled my add-ons, reloaded the UI, re loaded WOW, and also rebooted my computer…nothing. I went to the horde side and tried and it worked fine, but when I went back to Stormwind, it wouldn’t work. UGH!!! This sucks! Although, I can just use the cooking fires at the inns, but it’s very inconvenient when it’s far away from the AH to buy mats for cooking.

Edit your post and select the bug report forum, or copy/paste it to there. Just in case it’s caused by a new holiday feature.

Most likely you’re near some kind of important/holiday NPC’s stomping grounds. At the start of Dragonflight, Blizzard added a new aura that rapidly despawns “placed” objects like toys in response to people constantly dropping everything under the sun around the cooking pot in Iskaara to make the cooking event’s lag worse, and I’m pretty sure they applied it to areas where people loved to “bury” certain NPCs and objects.

It’s possible they could’ve put the aura down in areas where the Treasure Goblin spawned for the Diablo IV event and never removed them.

My Romantic Picnic Basket hasn’t been working in Stormwind either lately. Hope it gets fixed and isn’t some intentional nerf!!

I am currently having the same issue, but its not just the cooking fire its anything like putting down a mail box etc it is also on my mage, if I get on another alt it works I don’t know what is going on, I did turn in a bug report. I did just try a cooking fire however in SW and its on my priest and it immediately despawned. Its also not just in SW… le sigh…

There is an inn over in olde town. It has a cooking fire with a trainer next to it. I always just used that one.

I had this happen to me as well. It’s unclear exactly what is causing the issue. I used to be able to put fires pits on the top of buildings, but even those disappear. I haven’t tried the tuskarr traveling soup pot toy; I may give that a try next time I’m in town. For general use can use the fireplace in old town tavern, there’s also one in the mage quarter in the blue recluse, back past the bar in the kitchen.

This has been happening to me too for the last week. The cooking pot disappears too.

i defeated all the basic campfires.

I’ve also struck this problem.
Never happened before.

New fire regulations were introduced in Storm Wind. Automatic sprinklers developed by gnomes are putting the fires out before the who city goes up in flames

Learned their lesson from Zul, did they?

Be sure to check with your local authorities to see if Stormwind has a burn-ban in effect.

You may also kindly summon a fire-based pet to help with cooking, or put in a friendly request to a mage to combust.

Cheers.

Probably to brick the throwaway craft bots.

Cooking fire, the new world boss.

hooray for companion pets which double as a cooking fire :grinning:

Well… it is an Election Year. I would assume Basic Campfire is busy campaigning for Warchief?

I also hear his running mate is Nomi.

Probably just a crew of NE rogues destroying every fire they come across. Can’t say I blame them.

Wait a minute here…

Isn’t SWC made of stone?

Don’t use cooking fire’s, you will scare the night elves! That tree was lost because Bob tried to make a muffin…sure they blamed it on the Horde…but it was really Bob and his basic campfire!
