My computer specs not good enough anymore?

Just wondering what yall think i need to upgrade here to get more then 5-20 frames per second in any major city, raid, or place overpopulated place like an event (hint hint). Ive tweaked my in-game settings to tinbucktwo and reduced/deactivated everything i can as much as I could. All drivers always up-to-date and always have intelligent standby diskcleaner in the background eating a bagel waiting to do some work.

Why… Do you have a threadripper???

Part of the issue is you’re using a HEDT part when it’s not needed.

Plus that PC part was from 2018 and it was a first generation of ryzen, ryzens today will outperform 1st gens

im no computer nerd but idk about that cpu

Change that CPU mate and you good

Maybe cuz its a custom built , my pc is over 5 years old and i get about like i dont know maybe 70 FPS in cities

Is the first gen Threadripper Chip Set and Socket forward compatible like the standard Ryzen AM4/AM4+ is?

Seriously, get yours up to windows 11 as so as you can Microsoft is will no longer support windows 10 soon .

No it’s not

They moved to a new board for the 3rd Gen threadrippers so the highest he could get is a 2nd Gen, which is not a big improvement

First Gen threadrippers are not compatible with Windows 11

I’m using a Ryzen 5800X and it’s already starting to show its age despite being 3 years old. WoW is very CPU heavy and that’s where the main bottleneck is going to be.

The new Ryzen 9000 series are coming out later this year and I’m holding out for those.

here’s your problem!

Ryzen first generation weak on single thread. Overclock it and disable some cores. WoW with still run well even with half the cores.

replace the threadripper with a 7900x and your good for 4-5 years.

I’m not sure if Threadrippers were designed to play games. I thought they were for workstations.

Finally having to update mine.

But it’s REALLY old. This expansion killed it. Could maintain 30 FPS up to this expansion but there’s too many performance bottlenecks, especially in raid, where it’s dropping down to 5 FPS.

Threadrippers play games just fine, or at least mine does. People think they don’t pay too much attention to benchmarks. My system is worse than yours for games and I have no issue with fps at all.

When you’re doing Mythic Tindral your frames drop to <20 when the treants come out. CPU usage shoots to 100%.

He said major city first. Anyway if you get to 100% then you are using all of your cores. In benchmarks that test how many objects you can have, my PC screams. (In a good way.)

WoW is an old game and still relies on 1-2 cores. Heck, the game barely uses more than 4GBs of RAM. I got games using 20GB+ now.

Single core speed matters a lot more. If I go from a 5800X to the new Ryzen series once it launches I’ll be getting a 1GHZ or more single core speed boost.

He isn’t getting 5-20 frames because of a 1950x. And 100% utilization is all cores so which one is it?

Also, Ryzen loves fast RAM. SSD recommended as well. You will get ridiculous stutters running on hard disk when logging.
