Zack really spoke well on the status quo on this featured video. I have been out for 4 months and the new patch changes would have undone everything I worked hard for to get. So whether I played 8.3 or not practically made no difference. It’s a hysteresis loop. So much for FOMO when catch-up mechanics invalidates [just about] everything before it.
What I don’t think Blizzard understands that you can’t get time back once it’s spent. Temporal exclusivity really means nothing when all that’s needed to set the clock back is another patch(the concept of planned obsolescence). That’s why I think that in regards to gearing, you should be able to obtain BiS SOONER rather than later. I’m not arguing the DIFFICULTY to get it thereof, but the EVENTUALITY. Ideally–and this is an opinion or a factinion–BiS ought to be possible before the halfway point of a patch cycle. That way, you have the other half to do whatever you want: push harder PvE content or get out there and PvP. BiS doesn’t always mean people have to QQ. If people knew they would QQ right after, why should they even try and do BiS? It’s not asking for much to streamline progression.
Now I don’t say it in vain that I like the way SL is going with this according to the reports. Blizzard, just give us guaranteed progression and let us make our own decisions. You forget we are your customers. If you know people will sub for any little thing, why not make it even more worth our while?
I would have posted it sooner but I was still frozen.
But this is ZackRawrr. Not “exactly” the same person. Yes and no.
And I’m laughing about myself because I came back to do some goldfarming, after 4 months of temp QQ! It is interesting, though: you can QQ and come back like you didn’t miss anything at all.
I mean, it’s almost as if blizzard doesn’t want people having BiS gear the moment a new patch comes out making everything a lot easier. Crazy thought I know.
Heh, here’s a crazier thought: people QQing right after BiS. You can’t stop a raidlogger’s behavior anyway; raiding is their end-all-be-all and that’s that. Some of us DO like to stick around and do other stuff in-game besides raid. I guess that’s another crazy thought.
