My Brother purchased a $200 "gaming" computer

Ask me how that is working out for him.

What are the specs?

What are the actual specs? That’s kinda what matters, not that it’s $200. You can buy cheap computers that can play games that are currently popular, just not on high settings.

Well I paid 450 for mine and I get 90fps and run wow on high settings with no lag. I’ve had it for a year now.

For that price the main CPU chip says “Dorito” on the top.

I mean… an Intel Pentium 2 with Windows XP would run wow fine.

it is a game that started development in like 2001 afterall.

probably wont group well or do major cities but … I was raiding on a laptop in 2006, so a same-era desktop with second hand discounts… might be capable.

maybe not 200 dollars but 500 should be possible.

Even $400 would likely play the game fine on lower settings.
We have $500 Acers with $75 video cards and if Im not MBing I can turn all the settings up except for SSAO, which is pretty much pointless anyway.

You’re a bad brother for letting him buy it!

yes, and it’s a game that’s been under constant development since then. the game no longer runs on such low specs.
