My account was stolen

Hello Please Help! I woke up to find out my account was completely stolen. I tried to log in to battle net app and my email does not exist. I checked my email and someone changed my email, my phone number and now they added an authenticator. Im writing this with my brothers help on his account. There are also several charges on my paypl account up to 500$. I am able to prove that is my account with my Texas Drivers license. Can someone help me? Is this still possible to retrieve with my ID? Im stressing out please HELP

How is it possible for them to change all this ? Don’t they need access to my email account to make these changes?

I’m sorry to hear this happened to you. Some others may have additional suggestions, but check out this support article with steps to follow.

Thank you I already submitted the ticket I’m just worried it will be impossible since they were able to change phone, add Authenticator and change email . They did all this bypassing my email account I had unread messages on my email so I’m puzzled

Good! I couldn’t tell you how they might have accessed the account, but I would change your email password while you’re at it, just in case.

You will need to determine how they pulled this off Demoniad. Was it a phishing scheme - perhaps a email. Have you entered your login information anywhere a little odd lately.

Could be malware on your system - perhaps a keylogger.

Download then run Malwarebytes.

Thank you for the reply . I don’t know how this happened. I can prove it’s my account my bank account is there in history , my home address , I have my Texas drivers license . I’m worried about getting my account back then I’ll install malware and more protection .

Ps this is me Demoniad

No need to worry. They don’t really use bank account info to verify accounts, because anyone can pay for someone elses account. But so long as the name on the account matches your ID, and there are no weird issues like the account used to belong to someone else or something like that, then it shouldn’t be a problem to recover. Just provide the e-mail that used to be attached, and maybe a character name, and attach your ID and they’ll get you squared away.

Definitely check for malware, and it is very likely they’re into your e-mail to make sure that is secured too. A lot of e-mails offer two factor authentication which you might want to use, and once you recover your warcraft account I’d recommend using an authenticator for that as well.

You might need to contest the charges with paypal separately if you think they might have gotten your paypal information, and not just used saved information. But you might talk to blizzard about it first if they respond quickly. I recently had some paypal fraud on my account and was not blown away with paypal’s customer service.

Thank you for reply my account defiantly still has my name on it I can see him logged in . I am viewing it with my brothers Battle.net. I can see my name still there :disappointed:the hacker won’t reply. And it is set to do not disturb. The same name is my drivers license.
They managed to change my phone , my email , they added an Authenticator. Why haven’t they changed my name ? I’m worried because if they change the name then what? Can blizzard investigate and back track all these shenanigans and changes that were made in the last few hours ?

Yes it is all easily changed back.

The name on the account can’t be changed except under specific circumstances, such as an adult passing the account to a minor child who has come of age. There is no routine way to do it, they’d need a copy of your ID to do it, and I’ve never seen anyone manage to get the name changed on a hacked account. But even if they did, it could still be undone, but things start to get more complicated when they have a copy of your ID.

Tofflemire’s advice is all good there Juicyjoey. No need to panic - take a breath then start figuring out how they did all this.

When you get the account back, attach an authenticator yourself. If you’d had one before, it might have stopped the account thief.

I had one but with me traveling a lot and I have a VPN not sure how to create a specific IP on my vpn it always asks me to authenticate because of the VPN I think . It got annoying so I deactivated the Authenticator. I will definitely re add it if I get my account back. :cry:I’m really worried . They charged a lot to my account and all the items I purchased in the past. My spectral tiger . All my achievements I’m so stressed

I’m pretty sure anything they change is reversible, although you may have to go a couple rounds of restoration ticket responses if you find impacts the servicing GM overlooked.

As others have mentioned, sending in a ticket via support for account recovery is the best option here. After that support will take a look into it and help revert any damages, if possible. The most important part is getting that ticket in as soon as possible.

Hello I submitted the ticket but I did not receive any do not reply email confirming they got my email. Is this normal ? I checked the spam folder and junk and nothing I submitted it like 9 hours ago . Is there a number I can call ? How long will it take for a reply ?
