What are people using to track stacks of MW? I used to use nugcombobar, but since the patch, it always shows 12 empty points on two rows, and I can’t adjust how many are showing (as far as I’ve seen). I can hide it out of combat, but as soon as I start fighting, a big obstruction pops up.
I love the addon, because you can tailor the appearance to whatever you’re playing, and it’s very minimal, while still being pretty customizable, but it seems like someone dropped the ball with the last update.

I’m not using any addons right now, but I was fiddling around with WeakAuras earlier and somebody created a pretty nice Maelstrom Weapon Bar for that. I’m not sure how familiar you are with WeakAuras, but you are able to create auras and stuff similar to nugcombobar with it, or you can even import auras people have created online. You can even make it so it hides out of combat. There definitely is a learning curve, though. (And I kinda personally prefer premade addons like nugcombobar or the sadly defunct totemtimers.)

Thanks, I have that addon. I mostly use it as a basic buff/debuff tracker, so I know the basics, but some of the ones people make are pretty impressive.
I’m just like, yup, this one is a bar, and I’ll color it, yup, gonna go with the icon box for laziness, so I don’t have to choose a color, lol. Thanks for the reply.

Personally I just use one that I created that tracks msw in a single icon with just a counter. Reduced alpha out of combat, yellow text, glows annoyingly at max stacks, etc. I exported it below if you want to try it. Works the same way as copying and importing from the wago site. Assuming they don’t change the Spell ID for MSW again, it should work up and into SL.

See, the thing I liked about NCB was that it was at a weird level of visibility, where I could completely look past it, because it wasn’t intrusive (and the lightning orbs made it look natural), but it was very visible when it hit 5 stacks, yet still not obnoxious. It was the perfect addon for me. I hope they fix it to give more customization. Maybe by the time SL launches. I only have a few days left on my sub until they release the real prepatch, lol. Looking forward to the new expansion.
Edit: I will give that a try, see how it works for me.

You can try leaving a comment for the author of NCB on curseforge; maybe ask them if they’re going to implement support for maelstrom weapon, or just let them know it’s not working right.
In the meantime, hopefully weakauras works for you and you can figure out how to customize it a bit more. Or even find that aura that works just right for you online. Give it a search or something.
