When your supervisor said raise the TFT cd time or remove interrupt, you should have told them “that’s not fun, nobody would like that, it’s counter to what people like about the spec.” You made so many positive changes. There’s still ways to go but it’s getting undercut by bad ideas like removing interrupt from mw. All that good is overshadowed by something so simple, yet so detrimental.
Tune fist weaving damage to reflect the risk/reward for melee uptime and skill expression. Return interrupt. TFT 30 sec. Make cocoon a baseline and move coalescence into it, just make it 80% stronger by default instead of making it a talent node.
Chi-ji should do more damage and there should be a pvp talent to elevate chi-ji to immune all CC, so that fistweavers can trade or at least do something with their quintessential CD. Replace Ox Kick pvp talent with disarm (return disarm. mw has no trades.)
Get your knuckle wraps. Get your black belt. Get your head band. And drop a banger patch. Please. Please let me wake up one day and see Spear Strike returned. I love that you implemented so much of my feedback into the talent tree but not having an interrupt is really, really overshadowing that. The tuning is too but I’ve reluctantly entertained bad tuning in the past, because the spec is fun. Removing interrupt is just killing that in every form of content. If kick/interrupt comes back I’d just be so happy.
I respectfully disagree. As a long-time healer I prefer when we did not have interrupts. I’m sure you’re aware that in an average M+ key we are dispelling upwards of at least 20-30+ times, we heal, and we compliment with dps. Not to mention all the micro abilities like Leg Sweep, Ring of Peace, Paralysis, Touch of Death, and the snares/slows we can also do with our rolls and Transcendence.
I can rely on my dps and tank to do the interrupting, after all they rely on me to keep them alive and it’s one less thing I have to focus on. Removing the interrupt for healers balances this way more than it has been and I am glad this change was made.
Don’t resto shamans have access to an interupt ability, in additional to their purge and alongside dispel?
I don’t think it’s too much, I like it as an available option. The “pruning” that’s been happening has taken away player choice. It’s ok to combine abilities together, such as Druids Efflorence attaching directly to lifebloom, which is very nice indeed. We like these changes.
But gutting spells entirely, such as removing interrupts for a melee healer is unacceptable.
I disagree entirely. Please don’t ever bring up any of those things as replacements for interrupt. They’re not even remotely close. Paralysis delayed a cast by like half a second. RoP creates more problems than it solves half the time when sending it as a hail marry to stop casts (they just start casting again 2 sec later anyway even if it doens’t ruin the groups AoE damage or put ads behind the tank to back shot them,) touch of death requires waiting until the ad is basically 95% dead, and leg sweep is the longest CD stun of any healer after talent point distribution making it the least reliable stun of any healer after talent point distribution.
If they put any of that stuff on a choice node with interrupt I would pick interrupt.
Correct. Any and every argument against it is invalidated by the existence of rshaman’s interrupt. Its existence is blizzards own admission that it’s not a problem and they don’t need to balance around it. So people trying to argue with you that healer interrupts broadly are an issue are not always worth arguing with. I’m doing it because the devs need to hear it, more than the players.
The person that is supposed to be working on the specializaiton. As much as it sometimes seems like nobody is, because they don’t change anything about it for 8 months, there is clearly someone working on it, and they need to read this feed back.
Moreover, if someone isn’t working on it, blizzard should make a job posting for it like “MW Monk Conceptual Design Lead” or “MW Monk Design Consultant.” I’d quit my job if I landed that one, and I love my job. Even if it is a random person, a dedicated dev should in theory be better than none.
I did not say that these abilities replace an interrupt, I am referring to the amount of other utility that we are actively using in our rotation. Having an interrupt is just one more thing that we have to watch for when we are already healing, looking for cleanses, dpsing, and using our utility.
I responded to a post addressed to the Dev Team with my opinion, which is valid just as much as anyone else and I will provide feedback to them as you have. My response is not directed at you.
They do. But we could also add that the Priest has never had an interrupt, still does not, and continues to heal just fine.
