But what could they make it? Without our mastery looking like someone else’s, just making this spell interact with a few more spells in our kit would make it fine, rather then going to the drawing board and making up a new mastery. And again, you are only stating from a raid perspective what our mastery feels like, in keys our mastery is incredibly strong. I don’t think changing it completely just because those who only raid have an issue with it is the right call. But we can just go back and forth on this, your opinion is yours and mine is mine🤪
For example they could make mastery a mana stat, ie i dunno at high mana you do mastery% more healing and at low mana you refund mastery% mana on cast. A silly one might be you do % more healing based on how much you’ve moved in the past 10 seconds so you could double roll into a massive revival or somesuch. They could make it literal second vers if they so choose, I’m just saying that our current mastery that doesn’t effect most of our healing options is unhealthy for the spec at large. In its current state it does ok in m+, I feel part of that is the inclusion of chi-ji but I won’t deny its single target healing focus is nice in m+, but there have been plenty of badly designed mechanics that worked well somewhere before being reworked.
My problem with adding more spells is that eventually something will have to break and they’ll end up having to nerf mastery because it’ll just be a static healing increase on most of our spells, I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes a thing in 9.2 since our mastery has effectively tripled revival’s power. Our mastery’s static scaling is high because it has to be, but if its on more things it’ll quickly become too strong. Also we’re in the age of borrowed power for better or for worse, having a mastery that does nothing with our trinkets, probably our future tier, legendaries, and cov abilities is a negative for mistweaver.
Another example of another basic effects all healing type mastery might be mastery% of healing is added to your next heal for all heals.
None of those sound interesting, no offense. Tbh I’d be ok if they added an effect like what multistrike use to do for RNM, where rnm had a chance not to go on cd based on multi strike, numbers would have to be reworked but it would give us something else for raid. We shouldn’t have to lose gusts, it fits the aesthetic of MW, adding one or 2 more things to it won’t break MW. If they don’t change the mana costs of vivify again, we will have a decent sized mana cost still tied to our only spam heal, adding gust to vivify might actually justify our only spam heal being high.
