After now leveling up all the other healers I am now in awe of mw mana cost. I ran entire mythic on hpally without drinking once.
The craziest one is shaman tbh, their mana costs are so ridiculously low.
Its wild seeing the difference between the resto shammies vs. me during Council fight. I’m begging for innervates and mana tide and our resto shammies arent budging from 60% mana. MW mana casts are untenably high.
I find the Ancient Teachings legendary to be good for mana management in raids. It looks to help me a lot.
I chew through mana if I’m using upwelling for some reason.
BUT YES our mana is pretty hard to keep up. Our spells cost a crazy amount.
i have no sympathy for you. literally a priests entire existence.
Holy priest has a mana CD and disc doesn’t have intense mana issues. What?
Only problem for fistweaving, Cuz thats what I’m doing in raids ATM, is that if people stand in stupid we can’t quickly have a reaction to get them up real quick without wasting our mana.
I primarily fistweave with Ancient Monastery too. I handle emergency healing in 4 different ways, depending on a very wide range of factors:
- Let the other healers (cough Shammy) get them. The service I provide is more raid-wide coverage so that spikes are much less intense and dangerous.
- CD’s if it’s raid damage.
- If they are melee I pop RJW, and make sure I’m relatively close.
- Take a step back and pump them with SooM, Vivifies & maybe even an EnvMist (if you don’t think the Shammy will get to them first).
Bottom line is to remember you are on a healing team. It’s not about topping healing meters, it’s about the boss kills.
That is why while I find fistweaving fun I don’t think Chi-Ji is as powerful as a raid CD as people claim it is. If many people are about to die bc of raid wide damage and I have to start doing my fistweaving, I need to ramp up in order to get all of those EnvM out. By the time that ramp is done people are dead…
Not to mention you lose Yulon for it which is passive healing.
Fistweaving might be more mana efficient though for sure.
Right. Also with the amount of high hps checks in Nathria rn its just kinda crummy that in order to have better mana usage you need to lose a really powerful raid CD. Its why mw are not well represented in CN raid comps rn. Bc why would a raid bring a healer with so many mana issues tied up to their hps when they could instead bring another druid, priest or shammy?
